TackLife- This Is How You Build A Great Miter Saw!
I have been shopping for a miter saw to add to my home workshop. I looked at every brand put there, but knowing I did not want to spend half a grand on a big name brand saw, I poured over what was available in the $200-$300 dollar range. I examined the specs and read countless amounts of feedback on many different saws, but in the end I decided to take a chance on the Tacklife 12" sliding compound miter saw. I was so glad I did! And right from the outset, I was impressed by this company. First, unlike some companies, they made sure to securely package their saw for shipping. The box was sturdy, there was styrofoam cutouts inside that made sure to hold the saw firmly in place no matter how roughly the box was handled in shipping. I can't tell you all how many times I have ordered some big expensive item in the mail and recieved a box that was half open because the shipper failed to properly tape it up before it left the warehouse. Not the case here! About the saw. There was very little setup required. Immediately there were several things I noticed that I really loved about this saw. First. the extensions on each side. They pull out a good ways, making the surface of your saw able to accommodate a six foot board with ease. I really liked how wide the extensions are, and the fact that they are built to set on a flat surface- not just hang out suspended in mid air. You really will appreciate that when cutting long, wide boards. The saw was also accurate right out of the box. I used an angle positioned flat against the fence to determine how accurate a straight cut would be, and I was amazed that it was spot on- with NO adjusting on my part! The saw has good power, is not too loud, and slides really well. I haven't even bothered to use the laser. I just bring the saw blade down and line it up with my cut line before each cut, and I get a perfect cut every time. I will say that the blade is average at best, and if you plan to do alot of cutting- buy a better blade with 80 or 96T. The best thing about the saw? It has to be the clamp down arm. I have NEVER seen a better design than on this saw. Dewalt, Rigid, Hitachi, Ryobi- all those other brands have what is referred to as "pressure clamps". And they are practically WORTHLESS! The reason is that there is nothing anchoring the clamp to the actual saw base. So you go and clamp it down on your piece of wood relying on gravity and other mystical forces to hold your board down tight as you cut. Problem is- they never work! Most everyone I know has just given up on using them completely and is left to hold down the board with one hand while cutting with the other. Not only is this extremely unsafe, but it is like playing a game of hand Twister every time you want to make a cut. Well, I must affirm the TackLife has put an end to that. With their innovative design (a wingnut screw you tighten at the base of the clamp shaft secures it to the base of the saw) you finally have a wood clamp that actually does everything it is supposed to! I have used it dozens of times so far without fail- even once securing a stack of six foot long pine boards stacked four high. All these great features make TackLife a real hidden gem in the world of miter saws. If you are looking for a great miter saw around the $200 dollar range you won't find anything better than this.

So far so good, minor parts mishap -- UPDATE
Saw Quality: A+Parts Included: BOverall, very happy with this purchase. The saw was maybe a 1/32 out of alignment, MAYBE 1/64 just from eyeballing it with a square, but perfectly within threshold for me. I will review on longevity in the future later.I wish it had an inches mark instead of CM along the back rail. Unfortunately, over here in the US, my mind only comprehends inches. As far as knocking off a star - I was shipping two left-hand-side supports, which you can see in my first picture does not allow the right hand side support to line up perfectly. I tried swapping them around, or seeing if I could fix it myself, but it looks like it is indeed a left hand and right hand support, and they just sent me two lefties. I contacted support via email and am awaiting a response. I offered to send back the old for a new, we will see.If I don't hear anything from support, I will knock further stars because it worries me about warranties/etc if I needed something larger done.Update - Contacted tacklife support directly - within a week I had my replacement. A+ Customer service. Upgraded to 5 stars.

Great company to deal with...
Below was my original review, but I had to come back and edit it. The sellers where quick to help me resolve my issues with the tool. They where very helpful and understanding. Great company and I look forward to buying more tools from them in the future. This saw did have some issues but to my understanding the are current out of stock and resolving these issues. This saw is not terrible and pretty strong for the money, but random parts keep falling off. Bag came broke, Ill update review but it is just not well built. Probably still a decent value for the money but I may try to figure out how to return mine maybe the one I got slipped through quality control. I have bought many other Tacklife tools that have been really great and rugged, but this saw is just not the same quality as some of there other tools I have purchased. May make a review video, and post on youtube channel: Redclay homestead.

Great Decision!!
I wasn’t sure what to expect because of the price. Unboxed it and was instantly ecstatic over my wise purchasing prowess. I’m a homeowner who does not need to pay $500 for the features and quality this product provides.

Good for light duty
I've had the privilege of using many miter saws, most recently a deWalt. The build of this saw seems much cheaper than it's more expensive competitors and that is what I expected. It also cuts amazingly accurate cuts. The laser is dead nuts on the center of the blade, and the saw came near perfectly aligned right out of the box.For my uses, which are weekend warrior type projects I think this saw will serve me well for some time. But I would not consider using this every day if my salary depended on it.A few things I have issue with:1)Most of the tool has a cheap plastic feel to it. Brackets that I would expect to be aluminum or steel are plastic. I expect over time, what will fail on the saw are plastic structural members.2)15A on a 2-prong plug is just strange to me these days. Is there really so much plastic that even the motor housing is plastic and doesn't need grounding?I don't think this could take a fall, whereas I felt my previous saws could withstand direct hits on concrete dropped from some feet. For the money, I'm mostly happy. But if you plan on using this for a big job or every day, I would aim a little higher. I doubt there is much difference between this and a Harbor Freight Saw, but this is just my opinion and not a fact.
