It works!
This product seems to be working just like advertised. I don't see how it would work for a 1/4 acre though. But it seems to work on our patio.

Indoor use: 3 nights, 5 dead mosquitoes, 0 bites.
I am using this indoors. Been getting a lot of rain lately and with that comes a ridiculous amounts of mosquitoes. They just seem to sneak into the house somehow. Despite having TWO electric zapper rackets around at all times (I also recommend those), we’ve been getting bites pretty much daily (especially while sleeping). Finally bought this to try out as a desperate measure.Been using it for 3 nights and I can confirm that this WORKS indoors!!! We’ve gotten 5 mosquitoes trapped. Here are some thoughts regarding indoor use:- Have realistic expectations: given the choice between an odiferous human and the dynatrap in the same vicinity, mosquitos will always pick you. (That’s why I still recommend the electric zapper rackets for immediate offense.) But when no one is around, mosquitos will be lured to this trap. So consider...- The Location - pick a place where mosquitoes tend to show up (for us it is in the living area near the back door), pick a place and place the trap as far away from sleeping areas as possible.- Timing: I leave it on all the time and I check the trap a few times a day out of curiosity. Seems to be be most effective at night. 1st night there were 2 caught. None on the second, and 3 on the 3rd night. And so far they were caught only at night (while we are sleeping), none during the day somehow. Likely because of feeding time and there is no one around, so the faint CO2 emitted by this trap is the most “alluring” in that area.- Finally, Don’t skimp on the size. I got the 1/4 acre outdoor version instead of the 300 ft indoor one. I don’t have the small one, but to me it’s worth a little bit more to get the larger size and attract from all over the house.

Some design issues
I purchased this one, and another model, here on Amazon. At first I was impressed...I tried the smaller model indoors, and on the first night I got a bunch of moths, which doesn't really matter, but I also got 5 mosquitoes, which was a better result than anything else I had tried thus far. I had hopes of trapping a lot of mosquitoes, because my house and yard get a lot of mosquitoes, so I also purchased 2 more models from someplace else.I now have 2 smaller ones indoors and 2 bigger ones outside.PROS*It does catch mosquitoes, but with issues (discussed in the CONS)*All the models I got really are pretty quiet, especially the small ones*They work both day and nightCONS*Traps and Kills Indiscriminately; Ladybugs, Bees, Spiders, Lacewings... annoying bugs, but also beneficial insects, are captured, because the lighted area of each model has a lot of open space for bugs to be sucked-in. (More on this, below)*Where I live, over the past few years we have been inundated with Invasive Species of mosquitoes from Asia, and these new mosquitoes are TINY. Some are big enough to see them fairly easily, but many are no bigger than the littlest itsy bitsy gnats you have ever seen. These are small enough to escape from the mesh catch basket on the bottom, and there are little open slits in the plastic bottom where they also squeak throughFIXESTo keep the itsy bitsy mosquitoes from escaping the trap, I simply taped-over the open slits in the bottom of the catch basket (I assume these slits are exhaust ports for the fan, but they are redundant, since the bottom is constructed mostly of open mesh),andTo also help save bees, ladybugs, butterflies, etc from getting into the trap, I added additional mesh around both the lighted/attraction area, and on the bottom catching basket. I used plastic mesh bags, or "socks" , the kind you can find on some of the fruits and veggies at the store. Open at both ends, these can be slipped on and maneuvered/adjusted into place, away from being too close to the fan. This reduces the catch aperture area size, allowing mosquitoes to get in, but larger, "good" bugs so far, can't get into the smaller mesh I created. The extra mesh also keeps the tiny mosquitoes from finding their way out, and does not cause any barrier to the fan exhaust, nor does it hinder the effectiveness of the trap over all.SIDENOTESpiders get in, and all week I have had spiders, even teensy baby ones, be a big help. They can still build their webs in the catch basket despite the breeze from the fan, catch the bitsy mosquitoes, and eat them. That way, mosquitoes can't escape when you open the catch basket. Only problem is the spiders will die if they don't get enough moisture from eating enough bugs. So I check the traps frequently to release spiders so they can try again next time.

Not Impressed
I am not sure what all the good reveiws about this product are for. We followed the instructions on where to place it and how far away. It DID NOT work for mosquitoes as advertised!! It did however catch plenty of moths, but unfortunately we are still be attacked by mosquitoes. Also, a few days ago it has started making a clicking noise (which it never did before) and from the sounds of it we may just have to turn it off. I am outside of the return timeframe so at this point I will be reaching out to the company. Very disappointed in this product!! For the price I WOULD NOT recommend buying!

Elegant killing machine.
☆Note: A gift for our elderly parents.☆We got this for our folks when the influx of micro mosquitoes started to infest the Woodland Hills area. It took about 2 days to see a difference (a factor might have been that the folks turned it off during the day.) However, when we kept it on, the difference was dramatic. It is so quiet, elegant in appearance for what it is, and gives off a soft purplish glow. I felt it could work as a night light to avoid bumping into things without a glaring white light.Cleaning is simply done by giving the base a gentle twist. The bottom cup comes off easily and can be emptied by simply shaking it out. However, I caught my Papa going at it with a screwdriver to disassemble it and give it a clean... so perhaps give the instructions a gander, screwdrivers should never be used... lol

An Absolute MUST BUY Product!!
This thing is great! Our house is surrounded by woods. We've tried the larger traditional type of bug zapper, which kills a lot of moths and large bugs, but the grid spacing is too far apart to kill the little mosquitos that bite you. With the Dynatrap, it not only attracts small mosquitos, D.P.G.'s and no-see-ums really well, it sucks them in and traps them until they shrivel up and die. The Dynatrap is an amazing product and I plan on buying at least 1 more for the backyard soon.
