I wish the micro USB end of the power cable had a 90-degree connect on it
Worked very well for installing my dual camera dash cam in my SUV. I just wish the micro USB end of the power cable had a 90-degree connect on it as the power cable which came with my dash cam did. Other than that it worked quite well. If you buy the version with the fuse box adapter splice connector you may not be able to re-install the cover of your fuse box after installation. This item could be improved by making the fuse box connection cable so it would fit the low profile fuse block connections and with the fuse installed on it's side. This one sticks up a bit too high in my Lexus RX350 fuse box to reinstall the fuse box cover. No big deal, but it could be improved a bit. I'd give this 5-star if not for those two issues...1) height of fuse box connection and right-angle for USB power cable connection.

If you are not comfortable soldering wire you should NOT be installing this device
As other people have said the included wire is not long enough. I solved this by cutting the wire off the charger that came with my dash cam and attaching it to this thing. Unlike what some other posters said this device does come with micro USB NOT MINI USB. Again this was solved by scavenging wire from the old charger. This kit gets the job done and it is small. If you are not comfortable soldering wire you should NOT be installing this device. You could make a mistake and start a life threatening fire or possibly shock yourself and cause a deadly heart rhythm.

Not for Tablets or Phones?
Bought to power the tablet I have mounted in the corner of my windshield to run Torque, APRSDroid, Icom RS-BA1, Google Maps, etc. While the spec says that it can put out 3A and that MIGHT be true, it doesn't appear to have the proper ID wire installed to tell a device it is capable of that power. It might not matter with a camera, but tablets and phones will NOT charge at the fast rate.I get slow charge warnings on my tablet (Verizon Ellipsis 7) and phone (HTC One M7) like you would if plugged into a standard PC USB port. It barely keeps up with usage, but does not actually add charge to the tablet. This means twice a week or so, I need to bring the tablet inside and charge it overnight, as I have this wired to the ignition switch.I use Tasker to turn off the Wi-Fi, Cellular Data, GPS, screen, and speakers when power is lost. When I start the car back up, it turns it all back on. Whatever charge percentage I'm at when that happens is exactly what I end up with after my hour drive, but all the time the car is off the tablet is discharging at about 1% per hour. That means I lose 9% while at work and 13% overnight and the 2 hours that this charger is on during my drive time never makes any of it up...For reference, my 2A tablet charger will return from 20% to full charge in about 2 hours with the device running.

Perfect solution for my problem!
When I got my DDPai M6 Plus, I wanted to use its parking monitor feature, but the internal battery only lasts ~5 minutes. I needed a constant power supply and a hardwire kit was my only option. So far this kit is working great. It's in my daily driver car, so I haven't been able to test the battery drain protection, but I trust that it's functional. It fits perfectly in my 2014 Volt. There's a metal piece near the fuse box, that leads to ground, and the location of the fuse box makes for hiding the wires perfectly. The product image doesn't show it, but the ground wire has a fork terminal on it which made for easy installation!

I'm glad I checked the connection point before I did anything
I bought a Dash Camera Rexing V1 2.4" Camera here on Amazon, and wanted to hard wire it to my truck, yet still have it mobile to use in the motor home, so I saw the I purchased this item as an accessory to a dash camera. On the Dash Cam page on Amazon, it showed it was a "add-on" or "Customer also bought" so I assumed it was the correct part, and I would have no issues. I bought the hard wire kit, it arrived and I was looking forward to installing. I'm glad I checked the connection point before I did anything, The two items are not compatible. Wrong USB connector. No problem I thought, I'll just return it to Amazon, and find the correct hard wire kit. This item is a non-returnable item. I have since sent Rexing customer service a e-mail asking them if they make or sell the correct part needed, I have yet to hear a response. (It's been less than 24 hours since I sent that note). I would rate this item 5 stars if it fit. It looks to be of high quality. Rexing V1 2.4" LCD FHD 1080p 170° Wide Angle Dashboard Camera Recorder Car Dash Cam with G-Sensor, WDR, Loop Recording

Don't be without a Dash Cam, it will save your BACON.
The harness works as advertised, I added a fuse link connector to make it easy to plug directly into my fuse box and remove if I want. My wife bought me the Mini 806 for Christmas because I skillfully had it on my wish list on Amazon.I was involved in an injury accident in April 2015 at work and my employer had a commercial (Smartdrive) in the truck, it saved my bacon and and was irrefutable truth that I was not at fault. I'm a believer in dash cams and will never be without one again any questions ask me. As far as I can tell with my research the "Mini 806" is the best bang for the buck for a dashcam.

Should have purchased with the fuse kit
I didn't get the fuse kit (I don't think it was offered when I purchased this kit), and I tried to connect the wire directly to a low profile mini fuse by removing the fuse, inserting the wire, and forcing the fuse back in. It worked briefly for a couple of weeks, and then I think the wire came lose or something else happened. The wire did not seem loose, but the camera no longer comes on. The fuse looks OK, and the camera works on another micro USB source. Now I'm trying to get a fuse kit adapter that will work. I ordered the one I thought would work with my Ford 150 (low profile mini fuse), but the prongs were not long enough because the base was too wide to push into the low profile mini fuse slot. The fuse kit with this kit appear to be long enough, but I don't think they are sold separately. Need I need to keep looking.

Cheapest "kit" i could find.
Used this product combined with "I-Max Car Add-a-circuit Fuse TAP Adapter Mini ATM APM Blade Fuse Holder -Connecting Vehicle Recorder/Rear view Mirror Monitor ect. [Mini]" and a self tapping screw to wire up to cars fuse panel by the driver side (2014-2015 mazda 3). Works like a charm and very easy to install. The only Con for me with this product is the usb cable could be a tab longer. 3-5 more feet would have been ideal.dash cam installed "KDLINKS X1 Full-HD Wide Angle Car Dashboard Camcorder" very easy to use, just make sure to upgrade micro sd card to a 32 gig and watch out buying from 3rd party sellers off amazon. Bought 3 and all are fake.

Power source
Unit power supply works excellent, this is completely out of sight and operational.Looks better as the plug for the camera is not sticking out of the cigarette lighter plug on my never been smoked in Mercedes :)This SpyTec power supply is hidden away and even has its own fuse connected for added securityAwesome Thanks Again

Great product
This is a great product for wiring your dash cam. Works perfectly and the cable is more than long enough for the job.

Works like it should
Really easy to install and works great. Tried wiring up my dashcam for 12v but it did not work and after some research it turns out K needed this 5v hardwire kit and voila, powered right up

Good for low power devices only
I had thought of using this kit to connect dash-cam and other electronics to car battery directly. But was disappointed to see that it can only produce about 150ma current only. This low current might be enough to power some of the low power dash-cams, but was not sufficient for my purposes. Product mentions 1500ma but I could not produce beyond 150ma. Your milage may vary. Maybe I got a dud. Also note ground wire has tab on it which is not shown in picture. Didn't test auto shutoff and other features.
