Fairyopolis: A Flower Fairies Journal

This book is just as enchanting, as the Dragonology, and Wizardology books, if not more. It is for people of all ages, and if you weren't interested in fairies before, you are now. The book is full of the whimsical fairy images and details of fairy encounters by the artist, Cicely Mary Barker. You will also find many surprises in this book, such as letters, postcards, fairy dust, and even a gift from the fairies at the end. It seems that this book is aimed more for children, but is most definitely something an adult will enjoy, whether they are reading it to their child or reading it alone. You or your child will be drawn into the wonders of this book. The fairies are child-like, dressed in leaves and flowers. There are many things hidden in this book, to find. The book brings another world to you or your child, and will no doubt, allow your child's imagination to grow, and yours to grow with it. I don't know if this would be the perfect gift for young children. Try to imagine what they would do to a pop-up book before you give this as a gift. I hope authors and artists keep coming out with more books like this one. It brings a new excitement to reading and art, which is something that everyone can learn to appreciate.

I previously purchased this book about 10 years ago for my daughter and she had lost it somewhere along the line, but when I asked her recently she said she loved this book and would like to get another one. This lead me to getting an additional copy because I was planning on buying one for myself and I decided to compare new vs. used. I bought this book in two different conditions, one new and one used- very good condition. The new book came without the jewel on the front cover and no envelope with the glasses on the inside back cover. The used one had both of these items. I was hesitant to buy a used book sight unseen but in this case it was a pleasant surprise. The only other difference was some muting of the colors throughout the book, which was minimal and could also be explained by different print editions. It wasn’t enough to be of concern because it just added to the vintage feel of the book. The book is just as beautiful and charming as I remember and I am in the process of getting more books in the collection.

The book, had I actually gotten the right thing, is amazing. I had this book when I was growing up and got lost in the pages more times than I could count, it really sparked my imagination. However, when I ordered this book, hoping to give it to my own daughter, for her birthday coming up, I was sorely disappointed.. the book I received was the furthest thing from a children’s book about faeries.. they sent me a book called Boundaries by Dr Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend.. the cover says “when to say yes, how to say no, to take control of your life”.. and when I reported I’d been given the wrong book, I was never offered any option to send this book back and have them send me the correct book, only for me to just keep this book and they would refund me.. that’s not what I wanted. I wanted my daughter to enjoy the faery book that I had loved so deeply when I was her age.. now all I have is a self help book that I don’t even want, will never even open and it will probably just go right to a donation box.. really wish I could give zero stars for this seller

I'd just like to start off saying this is an amazing book for girls (or even boys!) of any age. I bought it for my daughter a few years ago (she was about 8 or 9) at Barnes and Noble, but sadly it was missing all of the cool things inside. It eventually got worn and torn, so we threw it out. Well now she's 12 and she found this book again, begging me to buy it for her. Thankfully, this time it came with everything it was supposed to. It was just as magical as the first time, if not more. The pictures and the "journal-like" feel of it really just adds to the specialness. The pop outs and the little envelopes with fairy stuff inside it really does make my daughter believe in fairies again. The calligraphy like script is beautiful, but at tad bit hard to read. Also, I would like to add that this is NOT an ology book nor was it made from that author. It may not be quite as authentic as the ology books, but I still give this book 5 stars because what I have failed to see in the ology books, is something that MANY girls will like as well. Of course girls can read these books, but I would like to see something a bit more feminine from the ology books. However, they are GREAT for boys! And fairyopolis really did it for my daughter (even though it wasn't an ology book). So if you are someone saying "they copied the ology books" think again. I think they were trying to make a bit more feminine book, but from the same idea as the ology books. Grow up, its just a book. But an amazing one! If you have a daughter who likes fantasy or fairies or both, this is a must-have book!

it came in good condition didn’t rate it five stars because it was missing the glasses in the back so i was a little disappointed but everything else looked like it was good quality

Got it for my daughters birthday and that's the only thing she sees now... She won't put it down so much she has neglected all duties throughout the day...

Amazing book,a must buy for every book lover.it is one of the most beautiful & magical book I've ever seen. It is a masterpiece,a gem for every age group.

I was a bit disappointed as not all the features that you find in the original prints are with this book i received? The Jewel on the cover is missing and also the 3d/magnifying glasses that you are supposed to find in an envelope attached to the back page of the book is missing, but then again i did not pay a whole lot for this print, but it was still disappointing.

Muy bonito, en perfecto estado por la protección en el envío, lo unico que llegó por correos y como no cabe en en buzón, tuve que ir a recogerlo por allí, por lo demás todo bien, el libro, aunque está en inglés (en español ya no lo encontraba por estar ya descatalogado), es perfecto para coleccionar o regalar a una niña.
