First off, the instructions are whack. If you don't already know what you're doing, you won't know after reading this sheet.Second, the Edison bulb look I was going for nearly blinded everyone that lives in the house or visited the house or had the misfortune of walking past the window. The "look" cannot be achieved without permanent retina damage unless you have very high ceilings.I had to run to Lowe's and purchase three metal shades to even salvage this whole disaster, and adding another $33 to the overall cost of this project completely negates any benefit to ordering online to save money.While the fitting would technically hold glass shades, I am not confident the unit would support the weight. You would also have to be very careful what height you placed each light so they will not clank together and break.There is not a lot of free cord at the top of the unit and it comes in three separate strings- you have to assemble the unit to be able to run it off one switch. Removing the braided cord to access more of the wiring is also a pain.Do yourself a favor and buy the one you really wanted before the price of this one hooked you, like I should have.

Based on the product photos, I thought the lights hung on metal chains, not cord/rope. That was a bit disappointing. It’s tough to get the cords to hang straight too. However, the cords quickly grew on me and I think they’re cute now - I also got lots of compliments on this unique light.Offers plenty of light in my basement office.

You can change the length of the cords which is great. We put Edison bulbs in that we also purchased off amazon. Very cool vibe

These are simple and beautiful. Exactly what we were looking for.

Ordered 2 of these and they are going right back. I don’t know how this weird pained brass-looking cheap piece could ever be called bronze. Also the cords the bulbs are hanging from are rope. Not at all what I wanted.

I would not even install this just because of the looks of the instructions!
