Haven’t tested extensively, but enough to be satisfied with my purchase. I’m now ready to install it permanently. Front video quality is quite a bit better than I expected from a $45 camera. Rear quality is only fair, but to even have the rear cam is remarkable at this price point. My past experience is limited to VIOFO’s A119-s and A129 Pro Duo which both have better video quality, but cost significantly more. However, this front camera is not far behind the A119-s. My favorite feature is the parking mode. I’ve had the camera unplugged for about 24 hours and it’s still recording in parking mode! I believe the bumps in the road trigger the g-force sensor, but it’s currently unplugged and sitting on the seat. I didn’t have to go through the menu to turn on parking mode, it just does that on its own! Compare that to my $250 VIOFO a129 Pro Duo - I bought their special wiring harness and parking mode still won’t switch modes automatically. I did see a warning that the Chortau camera’s internal battery is just for saving the recording before it shuts down. So they don’t want you to rely on the internal battery for parking mode, but it seems to me that it works just fine. It has recorded at least 10 clips on parking mode while it has been unplugged for the last day. Night vision is fair enough. I have not tested the infrared LEDs but I just think they would cause glare off the glass. I am installing this in a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer and I have enough cable to install the rear camera anywhere on the back of the vehicle with the front camera anywhere across the top of the front windshield. I am planning to install the rear camera inside the window at the top of the glass, but I could change my mind and install it on the outside of the vehicle, just above the license plate.

It's important to know what you're getting when you purchase products like these. I was initially looking at getting a 4K -resolution camera set but I just can't justify spending thrice the amount. For this price-point, standard 1080p works just fine. I know a lot of other reviewers complain about the resolution, and there's a few questions about being able to read license plates. However, please know what you're getting. Every dash cam, despite the price, will provide you with a pin-hole -sized camera feeding images to a crop-sensor. Put your cellphone on a mount and face it out the window. This is essentially the idea. The reason for many unreadable license plate complaints is not the camera's resolution nor the sensor; people expect these to automatically adjust to distances to pick up images both near-and-far, like a human eye. These are cameras just don't have the ocular ability to adjust like the way people want these to. Sure, that'll be great, but try covering one eye and with your open eye, judge distance. It's impossible; both are needed to do so, which is why there are so many complaints about dash cameras in this way. At night, expect every headlight to blind-out the camera...again, the same principle of having someone flash their flashlight at your cellphone. It just doesn't have any type of lens or covering that would cover the camera's lens to block this out. No filter on the lens, though I'm sure if you really wanted, you can apply some blue-tape or maaaaybe even tint the lens to reduce this. I do like the G-sensor which will turn the camera on and record for 30-seconds (adjustable) if the camera senses the car vibrate. It'll do this everytime the car is off and you get inside -- you'll hear it turn on and record, then shut itself off (internal battery, 1.5 amps. It charges once your car is on). It saves to a 32gb Class 10 (minimum) that you have to provide. I made the mistake of thinking it came with one, so please don't forget that. You receive a great deal of cabling for the rear camera. I've mounted my rear camera right next to the factory back-up camera on my car and still had about two feet of extra cable length for my 2015 Toyota Corolla. The suction cup mount for the front-facing camera is good...not as good as say Schosche (if you've ever used one of their suction-cup mounts, you'll know), but it's stayed on my windshield even in the hot SoCal sun with no issues. It's a great dash camera system for the price, and honestly, if you're looking at this particular one, you're already on the fence about the 4K cameras. Save your money. Use the difference to buy the memory card. 4K v. 1080p is noticeable on a 75" tv, not on a 3" screen.

Setup was a breeze. While choosing my desired settings, it was clear this dash cam is high quality compared to others I've owned. It feels durable and well made and the video quality is excellent. Before the first trip, however, I ran into a snag. I could not wake up the camera after the screensaver kicked in. I was initially very frustrated, disappointed, and ready to leave a bad review but I took another look at the instruction manual instead and found a reset button and used it. After that, no problems at all, but I turned off the screensaver just to be safe. As it turns out, that issue might not have actually happened at all. Confused? Check this out... Through the lenses of my particular sunglasses, I cannot see the video at all, no matter how hard or closely I look, but I can see the video just fine without my sunglasses. So that issue I had? I'm pretty sure I was wearing my sunglasses and that was the cause, but I'm not 100% certain on that. Idk if this is a safety feature to prevent distractions while driving or a happy accident with whatever type of screen protector they put on this thing. Obviously it would only be effective during the day, when people usually wear sunglasses. I've yet to drive with it at night, so I can't comment of the night vision capabilities yet, but so far, I'm impressed. Update: The main reason I got this particular unit was for the advertised heat resistance and it has held up remarkably well in the Arizona summer heat compounded by being in a hot car for over a week. The night vision is actually pretty good as well. The main problem I've had with this unit is the motion detection. It needs to be more sensitive. I've had cars and people pass right next to me and sometimes the motion detection does not pick it up. Other times I've had the motion detection stop recording a mere ten seconds after it picked up movement. This happened a few times sitting at a red light when the intersection wasn't that busy. This is potentially really bad if someone hit me at that moment or some other incident occurred. I've also had the unit turn off and on for no apparent reason even though it is receiving constant power. Lastly, any time it randomly resets or you open up the menu for any reason, or you hit the"OK" button to manually start recording, it automatically turns off the motion detection so you have to make sure to turn the motion detection back on EVERY SINGLE TIME. If you rely on the motion detection, you have to check it before you start driving just to be sure it didn't go back to the default off setting. Because of these things, I am knocking off one star. I am very tempted to knock off two stars but I'll hold off unless something else negative comes to light. The backup camera, however, works great provided you can position it exactly right. That requires a lot of back and forth to check the image. I still haven't perfected it's position yet. It would also be beneficial to add two more screw holes on the back so you could flip the unit upside down to choose between positioning it upside down or right side up. I made my own and so far it has worked out well. One more update: I've been using this dash cam for about a year and a half and it has held up well. One last thing I've noticed about this dash cam: Yes, it does automatically start recording when you turn the car on if you have that option turned on in the settings, but not always. Here is the exception: as you may know, this camera has a loop recording feature allowing it to automatically record over the oldest non-locked video. Sooner or later, depending on the size of your SD card, the card will run out of space. When that happens, the camera has a pop-up notification that your SD card is full. You will then have to manually start recording at the beginning of your trip to bypass that notification (picture included). It basically depends on the size of the last video file when you turned your car off. If it's shorter than average, it leaves just enough space on the SD card to allow the auto record function to start up normally. It's annoying, but sooner or later you will just have to get into the habit of double checking that it is recording as it is supposed to.

Great dual cam option at a bargain. My photos only show when I had just the front cam mounted. I'll take more pics of the complete setup for a follow up review. I have this in a 2012 Kia Soul and I had absolutely no problem with running the cords through the weather stripping of the doors for both cams. I split them by running the front cam on the passenger side and under glove box. Then I ran the rear cam on the driver side to the back. I mounted the rear by drilling tiny holes into the rear center brake light to mount the cam. I tried using the included foam tape but in the NV sun, it only lasted minutes. 3M is likely the way to go but the mounting works well for this car. I have not reviewed the recordings yet so I'll update this review when I do. I'll also post some finished pictures for reference. Only "issue" I ran into was that it would constantly turn off just minutes after starting my car. It drove me nuts until I realized that the auto shutdown/auto off was set to 5 minutes. Turning this to off worked perfectly. I thought this option functioned such that the cam would shutdown 5 mins after I turned off the car. Wrong. It still auto shuts down when I turn off the car with this set to off. So, win win. Also, I am not using the rear reverse light cable. This thing isn't a reverse cam...it's to record knuckle heads who are on the road. So if you want this to see when you are reversing, consider a different option. The screen, even full screen, is not big enough to clearly see what is behind you. Use your mirrors or buy a dedicated reverse cam/larger screen if that's what you are after. If your expectations are in line and you have done your research, this is an amazing option...let's see if Aug in NV can make this thing melt...more to come!

This is my first dash cam, so don't have much too compare it to. It seems more than adequate for basic forward video recording. The wide angle is pretty amazing actually. The unit itself also has a nice look and feel. This is stated in the amazon description , but is worth repeating: Turn off the GShock sensor Turn off parking mode Otherwise you will likely end up with gaps in your recordings. When the sensors are turned off, recording has been seamless for me. The bad: The rear camera on my unit only works when the power plug is not installed and it's running on the internal battery. Customer service was responsive and tried to help. Claimed it was a defective rear camera and sent me a new one. That didn't fix it, so I'm just writing off the rear camera function. Also when the rear camera is plugged in, the camera does not automatically start recording. Now that I leave it unplugged, the camera starts recording automatically when car is turned on. Another observation is that I find it much easier to transfer videos to my computer by connecting the camera to my computer, instead of using a thumb drive with the micro sd card. The thumb drive method works , but my computer seems to struggle with it. Edit: I thought a larger micro SD card wouldn't actually work. It does. I put in a 128 gb card, let the camera format it, and so far it's up to 95 gb saved. Interesting. If you are looking for a dash cam, I suggest moving on to something a bit more current than this one. I'd probably rate this at 2.5 stars. The front camera is adequate for my purposes, and it's fairly cheap. If the rear camera worked, this would be a great bargain.

* * * UPDATE 8/12/2021 * * * We've had this Dash Cam for about 4 months now and the cons are heavily outweighing the pros. We are seriously regretting purchasing this when we did and wished we would have waited to buy a higher quality dash cam. To add to the negatives we posted 4 months ago down below. Transferring footage from the camera to my computer is an absolute nightmare. This issue started about a month after using the camera 5 times a week, back and forth to work, and has been progressively getting worse. I know for a fact that there are no issues with any of my PCs USB ports, I use them all the time with other devices and scans show there are no faults with the USB ports. Yet, when I plug the camera in to extract the files, sometimes it won't register that there is a device connected to the computer. I have to unplug and plug it back in numerous times until it decides it wants to connect. Once connected, it's basically a race to get the files off of the camera because sometimes it will disconnect mid-transfer, so the charades begin all over again until I have successfully transferred all files. It used to happen once every few days but now it's happening at least 10 times per transfer session. My PC has 4 USB ports on the front, and 4 in the back. I have tried all of them to no avail. Either something is wrong with the connecting USB cable or there's an issue with the camera internally. Either way, it's enough to drive the wife insane since she's the one who puts up with the task of transferring files. It's probably best by now to just throw it in the garbage where it belongs. Another issue we've been steadily having for the past few weeks is that the camera chooses when it wants to record and when it doesn't. What I mean by that is, after I have physically plugged it in once I've started the car, and have made sure that it is on and recording, it will stop recording but remain on until I've reached my destination. I won't realize there were no recorded files until I've returned home and fought with it to transfer over files that were never there. This poses a serious issue for myself and my wife. For example: If either of us were to be involved in an accident, then state that we had a dashcam as proof, only to find out it was having a temper tantrum during it all and not doing it's job. So, now we're put in a predicament where if fault is not already obvious then we're basically screwed. I can't put trust in a device that has slowly declined in operating ability. If you take anything away from this lengthy review, just do your research. Save up and buy the best that's out there for your safety. 4/16/2021 - Snagged one of these during an Amazon Deals event, been wanting a dash cam for a while now and this one didn't look too bad. It was easy to set up in our SUV, and mounting both cameras was fairly simple. Sound quality is good for both cameras. The back camera we decided to mount inside our vehicle versus outside, worked better for us. We've yet to hook up the wires internally for the backup camera function, so can't comment on that just yet, and we also haven't used the dash cam at night, so can't comment on the picture quality during the nighttime either. The quality of the rear camera is okay, mildly blurry, but still visible enough to know what you're looking at. The front camera quality is great, definitely not the best out there, but I'm able to read plates if the car is in decent range. I included video footage from front camera and a screenshot from the rear camera. The black line in the rear camera image is just the line on my rear window. There's three negatives so far for me. The first one is the record time. I'm not sure if other dash cams are similar, but it records in 2 minute intervals. So, if I had to use the footage for something, I would either have to send each individual file or find a way to stitch them together in a video program. Just a mild inconvenience in my opinion. The second negative is the date and time feature. I've changed the date and time on it 3 times and each time after it was turned on it shows the date prior. As shown in the video and image I included, the clip is from April 16 around 11am, but shows the date of April 15 around 11pm. I don't know what else to do other than setting the time every time I turn it on before a drive, another inconvenience. It would suck if I needed the footage and the wrong date and time was stamped on the video. The third negative, which might be a fault in the camera that we received, is that it turns on with the slightest touch anywhere on the camera. The power button has to be held down in order to turn it on, but just picking it up or unscrewing it off the mount will turn it on. Just an issue we'll have to live with, but it sucks because it automatically starts recording when it's turned on and takes up unnecessary SD card space. The SD card I have doesn't hold much, maybe less than an hours worth, so will definitely have to get a 16gb or 32gb. Other than those few issues, as I've stated before it works for its intended purpose.

I have no complaints. I bought this because some crazy person tried to follow me home one day after trying to hit my car on a road rage tangent. The picture quality is great and I love that it records both front and back cameras. I have read that some people said the camera is good but you can't read the license plate number very well, haven't had that problem either. I will say that it IS hard to read when looking through the actual camera but I can see everything perfectly and freeze frame when needed when I attach the camera or SD card to my computer. I also had to attach the back camera inside the cab because my Kia soul isn't like most hatch backs and the plate is on the bumper and it was to low for it to be of use which was a bummer but even through my tinted windows I get a clear image on screen. If youre looking for a dash cam for personal use vs like an Uber driver or something I would say make this purchase, you won't be disappointed. Also the rear camera shows in the corner of the screen as well so you can see what's going on both in front and behind without having to change the camera over to the rear as most do. Very happy thus far. Motion sensor and G sensors work well also. Doesn't come with SD card, that will have to be purchased separate. I bought the Samsung series 10 32 GB which is made for high speed hd cameras and have had no issues.

I bought 2 of these in March of 2020. For over a year the cameras worked great, had great quality picture, turned on and off when I turned the car on and off, the rear camera automatically switched to a back of camera when the vehicles were put in reverse, and was super easy to install. Now for the bad. One of the cameras about 6 months ago began having issues saying that the SPD card was full (it is set to record on a loop), then the as card began saying no and card found. In the last month the camera has decided to stop turning on unless unplugged and plugged back in until it just stopped completely working all together. Also the window mount as pictured has completely disintegrated in half and will constantly fall off the windshield. The other camera in my other vehicle is still working as it should but sadly the the window mount has met the same exact fate as the one pictured. For this I am giving them a 3 due to one now being useless and both mounts breaking in the same time frame which to me would suggest poor material. Have been trying to get ahold of the supplier to try and order a new mount but with no success thus far.

TL;DR, I would happily recommend this dash cam!! I've been using it for just over a year now and I'm still very happy with it. The power cord did stop working about a month ago, but I contacted the sellers and they were incredibly responsive and willing to help. I received a brand new power cord within a couple of weeks - tracked & free of charge. Amazing customer service; I would recommend this product for this experience alone. As far as the camera itself goes, I'd say it's good value for money. It was pretty easy to set up; I have it so the rear camera is inside my car taped to the top of the rear windscreen (I couldn't connect it to my brake lights like this, so I can't use the parking function...but I don't really care about that since I can use the rear camera to look behind me anyway). The mount for the camera has only fallen from my front windscreen once in my entire time using it, plus I don't find it to block my vision while driving. Additionally, the wires are plenty long enough to allow you to run them along the sides of your car and have them not be stretched out or in the way (for reference, I have a Peugeot 206 and I still had several arm lengths of wire left after setting up the rear camera). The menu is fairly simple to navigate. The video and audio quality isn't particularly great, but it does the job just fine. I do find that, at night, bright headlights close behind me completely whites out the image, but I'll take that over having the camera outside the car as intended. The image is fine if cars are the correct distance away from you and the glass is clean. I have the recording set to loop every 2 minutes and I found that, with a 32GB micro SD card (which doesn't come with the camera), I can store roughly and hour and a half's worth of clips at once. I now have a hilarious/scarily large collection of clips showing the bad drivers I've come across while recording that I can laugh/cringe at. Having a dash cam brought my car insurance down a little as well. Would 100% recommend.

Salva i video su una scheda sd e li sovrascrive ai più vecchi in automatico. Solo la telecamera posteriore è stata più complessa da installare (lo ha fatto un elettrauto perchè da solo non ci sarei mai riuscito). È comunque un ottimo prodotto ad un buon prezzo 🔝🔝🔝
