It should be noted that for this price your magazines are mailed in plastic wrappers. To me, it is worth the extra $5. And of course, you get access to the PDF downloads, which generally are available a week to ten days before the print copy arrives..

Very pretty magazine; content of limited use to me
I've been a subscriber to Linn's for over 20 years. Unfortunately the publication is not as good as it used to be. It was a weekly newspaper type of publication until about ten years ago when it went to a glossy format with less content. It looks much better but it is now style over substance as the amount of content has declined. Then Linn's created this monthly "special edition" by ending another publication called Scott Stamp Monthly published by the same owners of Linn's. The monthly special edition replaces one of the weekly editions. Again it's a very good looking publication but it contains a lot of content that was in Scott Stamp Monthly which I have no interest in like monthly Scott catalogue updates for world stamps. Linn's also steadily raised subscription prices so that essentially the cost of including the content from Scott Stamp Monthly was added to a Linn's subscription price. I had chosen not to subscribe to Scott Stamp Monthly but by virtue of Linn's rebranding it as a Linn's special edition I was forced to pay for it to get the regular weekly issues. The price quoted here is for the monthly special edition which is basically the former Scott Stamp Monthly magazine. Because Linn's forces this issue on weekly subscribers, the cost of a 52 week subscription has risen from around $45 to $70 a year. That's outrageous for a magazine that runs around 36 pages which includes the same full or partial page ads issue after issue thus further reducing useful content.

A great monthly magazine for Stamp collectors at any level of the hobby
Linn's Stamp News is a great way to keep up with the stamp collecting hobby for life long stamp collectors and even beginners into the hobby. Good articles every month and a new listing of all the new stamp issues from every nation is noted each month in the magazine.
