Is there a concern if ice dams with this?

There should be no additional concern with ice or snow damming behind the diverter.  It made from 26 gauge material and will hold its shape under the added pressure. Are they made of plastic, aluminum, galvanized metal, or steel?

Accepted Answer

Our rain diverters are 26 to 24 gauge metal.  No plastic options.  The painted options are 26 gauge painted steel commonly used for metal roofing products.  The copper rain diverter is 16 ounce or 24 gauge pure copper.  The stainless steel is 26 gauge polished 304 stianless steel.  The aluminum is .025 or 24 gauge pure aluminum.  We fabricate them in north Alabama.  We can fabricate a custom size if needed.  We operate a full service sheet metal shop and offer all types of roof flashing. How "tall" is the part that diverts the rain?

The vertical leg is 2.5” tall. We manufacture these ourselves here in the US.  We can make a custom size for you. Feel free to contact us though private message, call, or text. Call or text to 256-566-0012.  Pictures of where the diverter is to be installed are often helpful.

Is the paintable option primed?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  If you are planning to paint the rain diverter it is best to use the paintable option.  The direct link is below.  This material has been treated to hold latex or oil paint.  It has a dull grey finish and it is fine to leave it out unpainted as well.  We offer custom sizes if needed.
