Solid umbrella base
I’m a big fan of this umbrella stand. It’s made of concrete but has a nice plastic/polymer coating over the top to give it a little style and remove your conventional concrete appearance. It looks nice and is not obnoxious. It has a threaded wheel on the neck to put pressure onto an umbrella rod to keep the umbrella from sliding out of the neck.It weighs 66lbs, so it is not maneuverable hardly at all. There is pros and cons to that. Pros? Less chance your umbrella/table will fly away. Con? If your wife likes to rearrange furniture (like me), you get the disservice of moving it repeatedly. Personally I don’t want it maneuverable. I want it to be as stationary as possible. One thing to consider is to always get a stand that is appropriate for your umbrella size. If you have a smaller 6-8ft umbrella, you don’t need a stand this heavy. 50+lbs is mean for up to 10-11ft with a table. If you don’t have a table, you’ll need to double the weight. You can always buy heavier than what you need, but never buy a base with less weight than the size of your umbrella needs. I have a 10ft umbrella and one day will consider a 12ft umbrella, so I bought heavier in case I need to accommodate in the future. The value here is the best. I spent less than $90, but if you try and buy a base this heavy elsewhere, you’ll easily spend $100-200+ for an equal weight base. The one I bought did have a broken foot on the base (hence why stability is 4/5). The foot just broke from the hole, but it still sits in the hole, it just comes out whenever I move the base. The broken foot has no effect on the purpose of the base, so I don’t really care. It’s 66lbs and the part that broke is a small couple millimeter thick round plastic wall piece of a rubber foot. I’m sure it’ll break again on one of the other feet in the future.Overall it’s 100% worth the buy. Sure it’s not the most appealing thing to look at, but it’s designed to be on the ground under a table, so who is really looking at it? Besides it’s black and pretty much just blends in nicely anyways.

Umbrella isn’t held securely
I’ve had this base for over 2 years. Worked fine for awhile. But for the past year, the part that that holds the umbrella has gotten loose so the umbrella isn’t held in place. It spins around with even a little wind so if the umbrella is tilted the shade is constantly moving. Useless.

Christopher Knight Home Caldwell Hexagon Black Concrete Umbrella Base
I like the look, but the marketing is misleading. On the Amazon website it states:"66-pounds will ensure a firm foundation for umbrellas as large as 12 feet", but in the instructions that came with the package it states: "Recommended Umbrella: 80 inches to 86 inches". That makes it appropriate for a 7 ft umbrella. I wrote the vendor and they stated that the package is correct and the Amazon website is incorrect.

Best Of The Best
The umbrella base is solid, sturdy, and looks good. What more can you ask for? The high winds have not been an issue; the base is stout. Amazon has the best deal going and the base is well worth the money. Note, it is heavy so you may need help moving it, and it is wide diameter.

Strong, Durable Umbrella Base
We needed a strong, sturdy, durable umbrella base to hold the umbrella for an outdoor table on the patio of our beach condo. Coastal winds can be strong, so we needed an equally strong, heavy umbrella base. This Christopher Knight Home Caldwell hexagonal base does the trick! We are very pleased with this purchase.

Tough performer with a sensitive personality.
Its a decent umbrella base. I have a rectangular 7x9 on it and it has been very stable. The bottom is unsealed concrete with 3 glides glued on so I wouldn’t drag this on its glides. I would also wrap the base with heavy duty plastic bag for the winter snow. The base rod could be more solid but overall it does a good job at a reasonable price and with a little TLC should last a few seasons.

Keep Your Umbrella Where it Belongs!
This umbrella base is heavy and well built, and serves to anchor our patio umbrella ( and table! ) better than anything we have ever used. Installation is easy and completely drama free, and not even strong gusts of wind can tip over the table. There is no down side to this base and nothing we don't like about it. We highly recommend this umbrella base as well as Great Deal Furniture, who provided speedy and accurate delivery.

HEAVY AND STURDY
This umbrella base is very heavy and does the job of holding our new large umbrella. Because of the weight, I expect that there will be little chance for the wind to topple our patio table, which occurred with our old base.
