The Pinnicle of QLED Technology > OLED
I've owned the the QN65Q90R for about 3 months now, and here is my honest review. I purchased this TV after approximately 4 weeks of throughly researching and comparing calibration test results, stress test results, and other honest reviews of the "Best TV's of 2019". My final choice was between the Samsung Q90 and the LG C9. There is entirely too much information to try to explain how / why this is the best TV on the market. But to sum it up, this TV is as good as it gets, for now. Contrast, in regard to black levels, is the only quality of OLED that is better than this TV. However, with 500 local dimming zones, and a 2000nit peak brightness (OLED = 500nit peak), the black levels are truly stunning. Literally the only way to see the difference is if you were to do a side by side comparison of the 2 TV's, in a pitch black theater room setting - and the difference is so minor that you would often forget which TV is which. With that ONE difference out of the way, the Q90 beats any OLED in every category, especially the ones that really matter - product longevity, room placement options, image quality over time, HDR performance, ease / options of installation via the OneConnect box, auto low latency mode, and variable refresh rate via Xbox One X/S.The bottom line is that OLED is a fad, and basically a very attractive gimmick. It will suffer burn-in under the right conditions, which no manufacturer will provide a warranty against, it will lose its image quality over time, it doesn't get bright enough to impress anyone in a well lit room or a room with direct natural light, and it will soon be inferior to all QLED tvs once the features from the Q90 start to trickle down into the lower tier tvs on the market (Ultra Wide Viewing Angle Technology, superior anti-reflective coating, & larger FALD systems). Not to mention the release of QD-OLED by Samsung in the near future (2021-2022) which will outperform every TV available on the market today, having all the inherent advantages of both QLED and OLED, with none of the disadvantages typically associated with either. QD-OLED, or Quantum Dot Organic LED, will have OLED level blacks, QLED level brightness, 180° viewing angles, true 100% color gamut, and have zero risk of burn-in or image quality degradation. But until then, the Q90 is the best TV money can buy.And while I do stand by my last statement, I feel like I should mention Samsung's true flagship model, the Q900. The Q900 is worth considering if you're getting the 85 inch model purely due to the pixels per square inch compared to a 4k, and if you have $15k to spend on a TV. And while there isn't any 8k content available at the moment, the A.I. based 8k upscaling is capable of actually making your jaw drop. But if you have $15k to spend on a TV, I'm certain you aren't reading Amazon reviews to help you make your decision.12/19/23 Update: My Q90R still impresses every single person who's sees it in person, and QD-OLED is everything I said it would be 4 years ago (Samsung S95C).

QLED is amazing.
My fiancee wanted a larger tv and I wanted one that was cutting edge, super high quality. My initial research led me to believe that Samsung's QLED TVs were just knockoff version of the real best tv tech on the market today, OLED. However, after doing a lot of research I found that newer QLED technology is, in most cases, just behind OLED in picture quality without any risk of burn-in. I have two kids who leave the tv on static images all the time so burn-in is something I was very concerned with. We loved the price of this tv relative to OLED competitors and I have to say that I was so pleasantly surprised at the anti-glare coating this tv has. We have a livingroom with many windows all of which we used to have to close the curtains over to see anything on our tv. With this tv I can leave them all open and, with the higher brightness levels, not see any glare whatsoever.

Great picture and simple functionality
I use this TV for my Xbox One X videogames and also for 4k Blu Rays. Both look amazing on this Samsung QLED. Highly recommend.

Big and beautiful
I absolutely trust renewed items from Amazon and its sellers. They work great for less cost. This TV scares me b/c it seems delicate. It was shipped several states away and arrived flawless tho. Not a huge fan of Fed Ex.

Wait for it...! It is worth it!
I have looked long and hard for a couple years, scrutized units in show room displays and acquaintance purchases of similar models. However, the Q90 has been a very satisfying product that I recommend without reservation. Technical nuances aside, OLED nit picking is insignificant with regard to the actual presentation under typical mixed light enviornments where brightness is essential. No, you may not be able to spot fingerprints on a lamp post at night but the wow is good enough for me to not care!
