I have been very pleased with the cages from Advantek because they are coated after being welded so there are no sharp edges. I have not had any issues with the latches. The only problem I had was with the wire clips they send to put the cages together. However, this was because I am slightly handicapped in one hand. I discovered that zip/cable ties work beautifully so I am using those. I will definitely buy these again.

Great size, very poor latch
Great size, very poor latch. The latch was easily bent and my critters disappeared. I will have to replace it will something less easily bent.

Good starter cage, better cages out there...
In the process of expanding my rabbitry, I sought out some ready-to-assemble cages and found these at Tractor Supply. I actually bought three of the cage kits complete with the frames and drip pans, feeders and water bottles because they were on clearance at TSC. Here is some of my feedback:1. The cages are made of a medium-gauge wire so sturdy enough for about 10-15 lbs of rabbits.2. The flip-in door SUCKS! Whoever came up with that stupid idea needs to be slapped in the head (as do the manufacturers who continue to make cages this way!). If you have a friendly rabbit, you will always have to shove him out of the way to open the door! Dumbest idea ever! To be fair, though, most cage manufacturers (except Pet Lodge) seem to make them this way... To fix the problem, I used a wheel grinder to cut the clips holding the door on, reversed it and re-clipped with j-clips so it now opens out and just use a double ended snap to hold the door closed.3. You will want to use j-clips (or zip ties) to reinforce and strengthen the edges, the plastic clips are kind of flimsy in my opinion.4. The plastic guards you put around the door opening to keep from getting scratched are essentially useless, the rabbits take them off and chew them, lol. I suppose you could zip tie them on but they would probably just chew the zip ties off anyway.5. The coated finish does make it easy to clean.6. If you buy the frame kits to stack them, they go together kind of hard. It took two people to put them together this way. But they are sturdy once properly assembled. So bottom line, AS-IS these are good starter cages, good for overflow during busy reproductive times, or good for light duty or short term use. For more rigorous use, you will need to reinforce with extra j-clips at the joints and especially the floor. Not the best but reasonable for the price. Much better than the Dumor brand that TSC sells now but that's another story!
