may be longer overall than original headset
In order to mount this on the existing fork, and retain a cable hanger for the front cantilevered brake I had to delete the upper and lower seals on the headset...which made for a prettier, but pretty much, the same as original headset. The issue was the top nut of the Richey headset. With the seals and cable hanger between the two threaded nuts on the top of the headset, the top nut just didn't engage enough of the threaded stem of the fork, hence the deletion of the seals which allowed the top nut an adequate thread engagement. Now if I wasn't using a cantilever brake up front and didn't need to have a cable hanger, it wouldn't have been an issue or if I was fitting a new fork and could cut the threaded stem to fit, I could have installed the whole enchilada, seals, hanger, etc. Other than that, a very nice product. By the way, the original headset...and most headsets...don't have seals so unless your contemplating some extreme weather conditions / mud, etc., it shouldn't be an issue

It's a good quality headset.
This is an almost identical replacement for a 1" threaded headset on a 90s MTB that sold for $900.00. Successfully used it as a direct replacement. Any problems with fit would be averted by checking specifications on stack height. A good, quality product that should easily last the same 27 years that the original did.

Threaded Adustable Cup Defective
This product was defective. There were poor threads/improperly sized opening, on the Adjustable Cup. I discovered this after I had already installed the two fixed cups in my head tube and the Bearing Race on my fork. Not desiring to repeat this process, I simply asked for a replacement part and was denied. The only remedy with Amazon is a refund and you get to order another headset. No thanks.

It was worth it
Hi I have an 1984 Schwinn Phantom. The headset is nicely made and everything worked except the inside head diameter was to small. I made an upper and lower sleeve which allowed a perfect fit. It's amazing how much nicer it feels to turn. The sleeve's I made were 1.188 I.D. and 1.287 O.D. x 5/8" long. Press a cup into the sleeve then press the cup and sleeve into the head tube. I used a 1/2-13 threaded rod with some big washers to pull it together.

Good quality -wrong size
Some times the problem is not the product but the buyer. I ordered the wrong size. The one I got was of good quality and fairly priced.

Excellent For The Price
Not a high end headset by any means, but will keep your bike on the road for many years for a good price. Great for a low-budget restoration project, or for your everyday commuter bike.

I good replacement if you are still using a 1" threaded fork. Plus it looks cooler than the chrome headsets most bikes of that vintage had.

Not the quality i expected from Ritchey
Item arrived and I have to say it wasn't the quality I expected from a trusted brand like Ritchey. The edges and paint is chipped and the logic logo is all over the place. My guess is that its a second. Really disappointed.

Apart from the fact, that it arrived without bearings, it looks OK quality for the money.Very frustrated as a first time customer of Amazon because I want the item replaced but it only gives me an option of refund and I cannot see a way around it other than to ask for refund and then reorder. My only concern now is I have limited time to get this repair effected on my bicycle and I am at a crossroads (no pun intended!) as to whether risk buying another one from Amazon. Having said that, the delivery time was fantastically prompt so I am not going to mark down the product for Amazon's failures.

I wanted one with sealed cartridge bearings, googled it ...
I wanted one with sealed cartridge bearings, googled it and found the Richey Logic was the one I needed. However it is not! If your looking for sealed cartridge bearings only the Ritchey "Pro" comes with them and not in 1" either so look elsewhere. I'm sure its ok for some but not strong enough for me so sent back for a refund.

Good looking headset.
Delivery: Had a spot of bother with the Amazon courier not turning up on the day they told me they were coming, or the next! It arrived 2 days late in the end. Hence the lost star.Product: Perfect. Has a nice smooth action and looks better than a lot of other budget headsets out there.

Warning It is threaded not threadless despite title
Headset I am sure is fine but it is threaded despite what title says so a waste of time for me. Although they do it in a threadless I can no longer trust Amazon's listings so better sourcing from elsewhere.
