Not what I expected
Was hoping this would be a transcript of the glyphs on the base. This is a detailed record of the step by step analysis of the vase. Not what I was looking for

A must-read on Ancient Maya history and Pre-Columbian civilizations
This monograph presents a detailed analysis of an absolutely unique find from the last decades of the Classic Maya civilization - a painted drinking cup with a lengthy text that looks as if it were copied from a hieroglyphic codex. It tells the story of a prolonged and ultimately victorious war waged by the royal house of Sa'aal based at Naranjo against its rivals at Yaxha and Tikal in Guatemala. The vase was found at a relatively small site of Baking Pot in Belize and so the story is told from the viewpoint of Sa'aal's vassals and allies in the eastern reaches of its domain, particularly the Komkom royal house, with some significant differences from the 'official' record of the war preserved on the stone monuments at Naranjo. This book is a must-read for a Mayanist and will be of great interest to all students of Pre-Columbian cultures.

Specialised but accessible
Excellent production job and thanks to the selfless co-operation between Mayanists it's both comprehensive and authoritative. I dropped a star because the summary translation at the end was only in Mayan - the speculative English was left embedded in fragments throughout the body of the book.
