This door closer does the job, the instructions for installation are very clear and they have templates for all possible configurations. Just 4 screws needed for the main unit and 2 for the arm. There are different sized screws included, and it even includes the drill bit you need for the holes. Installation took about 14 minutes to mark up the template, drill the holes, screw it in and adjust it. There are two adjusters for closing speed - one for the last 20 degrees or so and one for the rest. The unit is good quality aluminium body and steel arms, it should last years.

This arrived today and I fitted it this afternoon. It’s BRILLIANT! The instructions and particularly the paper templates make it pretty simple. It certainly works excellently, closing the door firmly without slamming. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

After my previous door closer gave up on me (oil leak), I've purchased this and I'm glad I've bought this. The door now closes gently instead of slamming. The installation was easy as there were already holes from my previous device. It's both gentle and assertive. Very minimal adjustments were made from out of box. Note that you don't need much to make a change in the settings. Watch how much you're turning the screws but again, mostly had no adjustments needed from out of the box. It functions correctly, it's sturdy, the strength is on par.

Yes, there is a big warning in the instructions but if you unscrew an adjustments screw too far it will pop out and spray the hydraulic oil everywhere. Attempted to refill with similar oil but I guess I knew that was never going to work. Good templates included and very easy to fit. Idiot.

Schrauben mit ordentlichen Düberln nehmen! Montage zur Zweit ist ein Vorteil (habe es alleine gemacht), weil es ein bisschen kompliziert ist ihn festzuhalten, markiere wo zum Bohren etc....aber es geht. Mein Eingangstür, 90 cm schwere Holztür von 1960, schliesst nun endlich....weil meine Tochter tut es nicht!

Quality item for 25$ and has an adjustable closing behavior. Installation is trivial ( unless you have a heavy steel door frame and a steel door, drilling which takes some elbow grease for the number of holes ). Much better than storm-door closers. Does not have a stopper to prop the door open.

Would also suggest black screws come with the product.
