PetSafe Piddle Place Delux Base Unit Porous Turf Indoor Dog Toilet with Cover

I usually don't write reviews, but I would have benefited from this knowledge so am passing this along.It is a great product in theory. However, the incline is not steep enough, so I have to spray down the pee that is stuck in the corners daily otherwise it smells. Also, my dog will put 2 legs into the box and pee, so sometimes it will hit the plastic edge (not covered by the turf) and spray everywhere. Also, don't bother with the cardboard wall thing. It is NOT sturdy! You would need to hot glue it or something. Since I no longer use it (because it kept falling down), the ridges get filled up with - yes you guessed it - pee! Gross. I like the idea of the design, but would have been a better product if there were NOT big plastic edges, no ridges, and if the incline had been steeper. The upside is that you can spray down the turf and under the turf multiple times and then pour out the contents each week. Still doesn't justify the price though in my mind. Hope that helps!

Our two Schichon puppies were paper trained by the breeder, and we carried that over when we brought them home. However, being puppies, we were constantly cleaning up pee & poo, and the vinyl floor. We went through huge amounts of paper towels and paper. My husband read some articles about litter box training and we were heading in that direction, when he came across this product. It seemed a lot easier than using litter...and it sure is!!!!! There is absolutely no pee odor, it is very easy to clean/drain, and poo just sits on top of the fake grass making it very easy to pick up. The daily spray has a pleasant smell.One of our puppies did chew a little bit of one corner when we first put it down, but a little reprimanding stopped that.Would definitely recommend this. We no longer need newspaper, nor have to invest in a paper towel company, lol.

Seems like a great idea except my dog won't use it. He will sit and stand on it but not pee on it. Even tried that training spray that is supposed to make a dog want to pee. And my dog HATES the grass he has a skin allergy and grass makes him itch. He pees on real grass and gets off it as soon as possible. I can't convince him that the piddle place is a good place to piddle.

WE didn't realize how small it was, or mistakenly thought our new puppy would be smaller at 8 weeks. Turns out, it's to small for her to do her circling before pooping. Otherwise, should work well for very small breeds.

This would probably work better if you start with a puppy rather than a grown dog. It's a really good design and easy to maintain.
