Kichler Lacey 20" 4 Light Semi Flush with Satin Etched Cased Opal Inner Diffusers and White Translucent Organza Outer Shade in Antique Pewter

Once again, I find myself writing another Kichler review for what's *almost* a great light, but with sloppy manufacturing.What really counts? This light looks fantastic. It's big, refined, but with simple lines. The opaque white glass does an OK job of diffusing the bulb hot spots, especially so when viewed from the side, but not as much when looking straight up (but like they say, "who looks up?"). Bulb changes are easy with a tall enough ladder -- I can easily reach inside from the top, without dismantling any of it.The bad?Sloppy construction, in particular the threads for the four "legs" where they attach to the canopy (the upper-most plate that touches the ceiling). The canopy itself needs to be a heavier gauge, and the hardware provided is lackluster. And the glass, although heavy, has a very rough-cut center mounting hole that looks like it's been chipped. At full retail I'd be a little more displeased with all this; at the reduced open-box price from Warehouse Deals it's a little more tolerable.It's big and hangs over a foot below the ceiling. Its diameter is as large as a small ceiling fan. This light can't help but have presence, and easily justifies a 9 foot ceiling unless there's a table under it. As another reviewer mentioned, the four legs do nothing -- they just hang down and disappear behind the glass, structurally unconnected to anything, but do add "weight" to the fixture.The glass is similar in size to an upside-down cake box cover. It's well packed in a soft Styrofoam cradle, and survives shipping abuse (trust me, I accidentally dropped the box, and it didn't break!) but won't tolerate klutzy handling during installation. May I highly suggest you have a second person and second ladder to help with this task, as there are two rubber washers, a small nut, the glass itself AND the loose-hanging shade to handle during assembly.Once installed, this light has clean lines and a very diffuse glow. I'm starting with 7w LED bulbs for a total output of about 2,000 lumens of light, matched with Pixi panels as fill lights, in a walk-in closet. At this brightness, all the details of the fixture are still plainly visible without burning my corneas, and there are no odd shadows or hot spots to contend with.In summary, strictly from an owner's perspective, this could be a 5-star light, but on the installation side, I'm not too impressed with some of the shortcuts and inattention to detail Kichler consistently gives to the design and manufacturing of their fixtures.

My husband installed this light fixture in our kitchen and it looks really nice. It did work best to have two people working together to install it. The only problem we had is that there was no way that we found to level the shade, so it did hang crooked until we shimmed it with small pieces of metal. We don't look forward to changing the light bulbs either since you have to remove the shades to do it. So for those two reasons its a four, but it's a five for style. If you plan on using four 100 W lights bulbs, you may want to consider a dimmer switch since that puts out a lot of light....and heat. But it is very stylish and I love how it looks.

Great contemporary style lighting fixture.Nice and understated. Very easy to install. Very bright with 3 LED bulbs.Way to expensive though - so one star off for that. Cheap crumbling styrofoam packaging - all disintegrated when I received it - though nothing was broken inside - I guess like any product made in China these days.

I have purchased two of these units and neither one of them worked. My original light fixture and a different replacement light fixture work fine so it's not the wiring in my house. Quality was not what I would expect out of a $400 light fixture and certainly I would think that out of two of them one of them should have worked

I was reluctant to purchase this fixture because of the cost. I still feel it is on the expensive side for what it is, but am pleased with the light. The light looks very nice in my dining room.

Looks good, great light output options with four LED bulbs and wall dimmer switch. Don’t like that the whole thing hangs on the center post, and the four curved pieces are entirely decorative.

I love the look of this light, but the design is horrible. The 4 bars at the top hold nothing and are only for show. The shade literally sits on the glass light fixture that is held in by a rod in the middle and two small washers. They are severly undersized for the diameter of the light. The light tips all over and goes crooked with even the slighted breeze through the windows. It is ridiculous for the amount it costs. Truly disappointed with the poor design for mounting the fixture!

Electrician installed and it went without a hitch. Casts good light. Works well in a transitional furniture room and probably in a more modern one, too.

Received the fixture in a box that appeared to be well cushioned to protect it and no damage on the outside of the box, but the fixture is broken...so disappointing!

The seller's picture purposefully hides the big ugly seam line on the outer shade (see my picture attached). Also want to confirm the previous comment that the only thing holding the heavy glass shade is the center rod? Why have the four additional supports? To make it appear to be well made, perhaps? This was clearly done as cheaply as possible. NOT A QUALITY PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE! This was my first amazon purchase and I am sooo not impressed!
