Does the NitroAV 4-Port allow you to go from FireWire to USB because I only have USB on my notebook and I need to go from FireWire to USB to capture audio? So I need something that can convert from FireWire to USB.

I own this product. It is simply a dual Firewire and USB hub, meaning you can attach 4 firewire devices and 4 usb devices to this single powered hub. You would need a Firewire to USB cable (FW 800 at one end - USB at other) to accomplish what you want to do.

That is correct. FireWire and USB are entirely separate methods and have two separate ports on the computer... 'And never the resin shall meet!' ;-)

Are there usb tyype a to usb 3.0 connectors avaialble to use with this product for older usb devices? i have searched with no success.

Not 100% sure I'm understanding your question, but USB 3.0 is backward-compatible with all previous USB cables. You can plug 2.0 USB-A connectors into this hub and get 2.0 speeds. Even if you could get a 3.0 cable that fit your older device (which most likely accepts a 2.0 USB-B connector), you'll never be able to improve the speed of that old 2.0 device just by using a 3.0 cable. Hope this helps.
