IS-BB-36DPNQ Compression Tee Hammer Arrestor, AA 1/4 in. OD COMP x 1/4 in. OD Femail Compression Copper

We recently installed an AprilAire 800 series humidifier (which is awesome btw). Every time the solenoid within the unit activated to fill the internal water tank, the unit introduced a significant noise audible throughout our 4000 Sqft house. The noise was so loud that made peaceful sleeping almost impossible. The water hammer arrestor 100% resolved this problem. It took about five minutes to install underneath the AprilAire 800 using a crescent wrench to install. Everything needed other than the crescent wrench was included in the package. Highly recommend if you have noise generated by the humidifier when the water tank is filled.

Our fancy refrigerator hammered every time a toilet flushed in the house. It became one of those sounds that once heard, couldn't be unheard. This Compression Tee Hammer Arrestor quickly made the sound go away. Installation was quick and simple. The hardest part was getting the refrigerator away from the wall. Wish I had installed this years ago.

The media could not be loaded. I installed this on our fridge water supply 6 months ago and it helped with the hammering issue. I woke up a couple of days ago to a puddle of water coming out from under the fridge. When I pulled the fridge out, I found that the arrester was leaking. Not from the junctions connecting it to the water line, but from a junction on the arrester itself. The manufactured seal failed and caused the leak. Luckily I caught it before serious damage was caused. I would not reccomend this product. The video shows air coming through the leaking junction after I turned off the water valve.

I hd a water hammer situation on the beautifier solenoid valve and this solved it. Says it is lead free and I would like to think that all copper line fittings are now lead free but it's still nice to know

Purchased product to reduce humidifier solenoid noise when closing. The noise was very loud partly because the humidifier unit is installed on the furnace causing an echo. I replaced the solenoid valve first, which did not resolve the hammer noise. This arrestor did the trick. While it has only been 2 days since install, the noise has been reduced and at time non-existent. Well worth the money. Time will tell how long it lasts. For the price and ease of install, I do not mind replacing if needed. I did take off 1 star, since the package arrived unsealed with the compression fittings clearly previously installed and used, along with, wear marks on the nuts. I initially processed an Amazon return, but decided to install it as is, since the noise was too loud. I am glad I kept it.

Works as intended to reduce/eliminate water hammer but leaked almost immediately. Wouldnt recommend as you'll just end up buying a higher quality one anyway!

Easily installed, I removed the copper tubing from the valve and inserted this in between. (The two ends of this device are different, and intended for such inline installation.) So far, no further water hammer. You'd think the contractor who installed our Aprilaire 800 humidifier would care enough to install this, since water hammer is a known issue, but no.

I agree with the reviewer below. This product is well constructed and it was very simple to install. It took 5 minutes to attach it to my Aprilaire 800 humidifier. I removed the copper line from the humidifier. I attached that copper line to the arrestor without using the supplied sleeve and just left the original sleeve in place. I attached the arrestor to the humidifier. I tightened both connections and then checked for leaks. The water hammer "thunk" is gone.
