Trout Magnet 82pc Panfish Magnet Kit

Five stars, and I will keep it simple: these catch fish, right out of the box. I grabbed this kit and my favorite cheap little rod and reel (the legendary Ugly Stik Dock Runner) and took my niece pond hopping. A big storm had just blown through, so it was overcast and the pond was stained. I tied on the Bumble Bee (black and chartreuse) grub on a 1/16 oz chartreuse jig head and had a little bass on within five minutes. I handed the pole to my niece so she could reel it in, and after that I picked off three little bluegill back to back. Cast after cast, we could literally watch the fish follow the grub in toward us. The grub plastics are good quality and the color assortment is well thought out, not just thrown together, and the hooks feel plenty strong for panfish. Thanks to the grub color variety, this kit will serve you in pretty much any water and weather conditions you'll use it in. Two small notes: the included jig heads run a little light, so I added some 1/16 and 1/8 oz sickle heads for when I needed to reach out farther, and I do wish they had tossed in a couple of different weights. The box is a plain plastic case, nothing fancy, but it does the job. I liked it enough that I already bought two more as gifts for my dad and good friend. For the money, it is tough to beat.

Now I'm a believer! Holy moly. Saw these things being used by Creek Fishing Adventures on Youtube. I've fished a pond behind my house about 5-7 times, and I'll catch 2-3 bluegill over an hour or so, even though there are thousands in there (I put an underwater camera in the middle of it once and saw them all mocking me...). I've used rooster tails, beetlespins, various jigs - the only time I was catching them every cast was with live crickets, but live bait is not my preference...messy, gotta keep them alive, and in the middle of coronavirus, where am I going to get crickets!? Enter these little magical pieces of soft plastic. Magnet they are! I rigged one up on the provided jighead without a float and picked a random black/chartreuse color. Immediately hammered. Then again, and again. I caught about 30+ fish before the mosquitoes were too much to handle, most of the time getting bit on every cast (but not landing them - I'll get to that in a moment). It was an absolute blast. I never once changed the lure, even though I had to take it off and put it back on a few times after a hard bite pulled it off the hook a bit. My pond has a lot of gunk it it. I got hung up a few times but was always able to break free thanks to the small hook. The hook is strong and didn't bend out. I don't know what makes the fish go nuts over this, but it has a very cool action so it just must look like live bait to them. Now, the one thing some people may not like, but I found really fun, was that you'll catch everything from a panfish the size of your hand (I've also seen some small bass caught on these), to little tiny fish that are seriously like 1.5" long. I couldn't believe those brave little suckers tried to take this thing down. Often they were just nipping the end which had me popping the line and flinging the lure whizzing by my head. But to me this added to the variety of fish that you'll get and makes the big ones feel that much better. I was using a micro-lite Cadence rod with a $25 micro reel and 4lb test mono. Very simple. Lots of fun, and well worth the $$$.

So I finally headed for the lake yesterday opened my tackle box and said what the heck anyways nailed bass bluegills and crappie all day the only complaint I have is why are they not named pan fish crack lol

I bought the Trout Magnet Panfish Magnet Kit for fishing in rivers and creeks, and overall, I’m really pleased with it. The variety of lures included in the kit is perfect for targeting panfish, and I love that it comes with included hooks—makes everything much easier when you're out on the water. The lures perform really well, and I’ve had success using them for Bluegill, Tilapia, and other smaller species. They’re durable and catch the fish's attention. However, my only issue is with the plastic carrying case. It’s pretty flimsy—after a short time in my fishing bag, the case warped, and now the snap mechanism doesn’t close properly. This means the lures can fall out easily, which is frustrating. Despite that, I’d still recommend the kit for the lures and hooks, just be prepared to possibly replace the case.

This Trout Magnet kit is excellent for anyone targeting panfish or trout. The variety of colors in the split tail grubs is great for testing what’s working that day, and the longer shad dart hooks hold up well without bending or breaking. The small size and lightweight design of these lures make them ideal for finesse fishing in streams and ponds. I’ve had consistent success with bluegill and crappie using this kit. Everything comes neatly organized in the case, which makes it easy to toss in your tackle bag. Perfect for beginners and seasoned anglers alike.

This item works great on panfish and is durable it has different colors and it raised my catchability its lite weight and portable

These work pretty darn good. I use a slip bobber so I can make it do a little dance. The 2 that work the best is the brown and black/red for me. Caught bass, bluegill, catfish and just caught a 15 lb carp today. Carp was on the brown.

Lure is suspended over likley areas where fish lie.The bobber allows a gentle jigging motion of the lure. Could also put a small worm to make it more attractive adding scent. Also try cutting one down so the tail of one placed at head of another lure might make a difference too.

Purchased in the Spring for my son. He loves it so much, he keeps thanking me!! Love that! It works exactly as advertised.
