Martin Logan - MLT-1 - 5.1 Speaker System - Black

This speaker set is wonderful. I had mine for about 6 months now and I am pleased with my purchase. Shipping from Amazon Prime was spot on. One of the reasons why I get almost everything from Amazon. No damage to the box or product delivered sooner than expected, which is a convinience as I am overseas.The finish on the product looks pretty good, especially for the price point. No noticeable seams or cabinet connections. Pretty heavy and durable unlike most satelite speakers. Terminals feel sturdy and connecting 16 guage wires were no problem, I actually don't think 14 guage wires would have a problem fitting as well.Bought these for the main purpose of watching movies not listening to music and boy oh boy are they great, especially for this price point. The Center channel, the most important part for watching movies is the biggest center channel I have seen out of a satelite speaker system. It is dual woofered with a tweeter and it is perfect for dialogue. the other 4 speakers are basically the same which is one woofer, for midrange, and one tweeter, for the higher notes. Timbre matching, which is the uniform sound from the speakers is wonderful. If you actually stand in the middle of the speakers you will notice a v ery uniform sound all over you and if all the speakers are projecting the same thing you cannot hear the placement of one speaker from the other. I have the front left speaker and the front right speaker seperated about 7 feet away from each other and at from what I hear as far as left and right sounds is amazing as it is slightly noticeable but not overbearing. For a little speaker set this thing produces a decent soundstage. The sub is decent and matches the rest of the system perfectly. If it was stronger it would drown out the speakers pretty bad. Don't get me wrong it is not a weak sub as I watch movies in an open concept house and the main listening area is 18x15 and even at these dimensions it shakes the walls and still gives me a nice thump during action scenes.Overall this is great buy. This little speaker system can rock, the timbre matching is on point, the sound stage is enormous, sub is pretty good and thanks to a decent sized center channel dialogue is more then adequate for most average listening enviroments. Hearing what I hear from this system I would think I paid more like $600 for it as oppose to $300. If you are in the hunt for an entry level speaker system or looking for something to hold you over until you upgrade to the next level of home audio then look no further than these bad boys.

Had narrowed down search for new speaker system to accompany a new Yamaha RX-V575 receiver to this system and a similarly priced Polk audio system. Went with the Martin Logans based on reputation, reviews and made in USA. Initial setup was easy and the sound is simply amazing. Love the fact these speakers are small and unobtrusive, but they sound massive. Crystal clear highs - smooth and rich midrange and bass that can shake the rafters (if need be).Auditioned many systems at the local "big box" store priced two to three times higher and these Martin Logans sound better than most of those systems. These speakers are replacing an Infinity system that has served me well for many years - my new Martin Logans sound better!Highly recommended and can't go wrong here - best value and highest quality for a 5.1 system!

The title says it all. If the manufacturer is easy to deal with I may adjust my rating. Not impressed.

The speakers sound very good. However, there are a few cons:1. Subwoofer is very weak.2. Very cheap made key-hole mount

I recently purchased the Martin Logan MLT-1 5.1 Speaker System. All I can say is wow. I have owned many audio systems, and my current set up is well over $16K but I have never really focused on the home theater system, I am a audio guy, I love music.I decided to upgrade my A/V system for the family and I am very impressed with the MLT-1 system, a very good system for movies, video games and TV. Speakers this small wont give you the full range of a live concert or the full range of a recording from Miles Davis, Marvin Gaye or Jay-Z, but they work really well for movies and games.The speakers are well constructed and the finish is top notch. The sound of the systems far exceeds the quality coming from any of the systems that I have heard from Bose, Polk, JBL, LG, Sony etc.., You could spend a lot more a get a lot less in sound quality. Four stars out of Five over all, Five stars price considered!The MLT0-1 system is priced at $240, but is worth far more, there is NO SYSTEM in any retail outlet that will give you better sound, with in $1500.00 of the Martin Login MLT-1, I've heard them all.

I have purchased several surround systems/speakers and this one really surprised me. I would not consider myself a true audiophile but have had systems that have cost as much as 20k (Arcam, Thershold, Martin Logan electrostats, etc) and went with the small ML speakers for a second room. These speakers really perform well and the sub is really quite spectacular for the price. very cohesive sound. Will definitely buy again (the sub iteself is worth the price!

They worked good for a few weeks. After a short time the sub developed a pop and rumbling noise when the source wasn't sending anything. Even if the cable is unplugged it still has issues. Notified Martin Logan and they took care of it by sending me a new amp. But after a few months it is back to the same issue. After doing some research I found that I am not the only one with this problem. Now I have a large paperweight. But the speakers themselves work so I may look at another manufacturers sub to replace

I purchased these based on Previous Martin Logan speakers i current use. As i suspected, they are outstanding!!! Im using them in a bedroom, so yes it is overkill, but the sound qualty is more than i expected. My delivery showed up just as i was told and they were in prestine condition. This was my great find of the year for sure!!! Anyone looking to satisfy their need for quality sound but not wanting big speakers, this is a must!!! You will not be disappointed!!!Fred
