5 BUMP WORTHY , CRAY CRAY, MANIPULATIVE, HOT, BRUTY, SCOTTISH, TEARFUL STARS*****So many reviews have been written about this book being careful of spoilers so I too will be careful but I hope I can add enough to lure each and every one of you to the world of Black Lotus....now not later!The writing is nothing short of perfection. There I said it, I went there! I challenge every single one of you to find a story that is as plot driven and as well developed as this one. Each crazy piece of story line is tied to another and then tied up into a perfect bow....well or will be.Yes it's a dark, suspenseful, intense, emotional read that will pull you to and from every corner of your heart and back again.Enter Nina and her intro to us ....a very likable heroine from the start whether you want to like her or not, she grabs you. I don't know what it is but she just does. Even when you want to hate her, be mad at her, you can't ...you will try but you just can't. Every single action, thought, and word spoken from her is fitting to where and what she came from. If she acted any other way would it be true to who and what she is? Should we like her? I don't know but ...I do and you will too. She is strong, weak, sassy, calculating, manipulative, irritating. So complex , flawed , and perfectly developed as is every other character in this book. From the first scene with Nina to her thoughts before, during, and after her and Bennett are together your pulled in.Bennett, oh poor Bennett, or not??? Who the hell knows at this point. We get just enough of him we assume we like him. There are hints that afterwards you'll look back and think did he, noooooo, wait, what?? I know, its confusing but I SIMPLY CAN NOT TELL YOU ANY MORE.DECLAN, GAHHHH DECLAN, OH MY!!! Yes I'm shouting and will shout DECLAN FROM THE HIGHEST ROLLING SCOTTISH MOUNTAIN or preferably the highest floored, mirrored wall, penthouse, on top of my own personal Scottish mountain. So hot. Enter Nina to a party , imagine scanning the room taking in who you know , eyes land on a hot, tall, bruty (yes I am making up my own word..he deserves it) male ,high ball in hand with a cocky grin, staring at you from across the room regardless of who witnesses this act??? WHAT WOULD YOU DO??? Then he saunters over to you in front of your husband and introduces himself , kisses you on the cheek, and then flirts openly with you but not in a crass, douchy way. Declan stole my heart from his first scene. And, that is all I can say about him.Pike. Oh My God, Pike. This one is tricky , how do I not give this away? He is a great friend to Nina.... I am grateful he was there for her during those horrific terrible times. I am grateful she was there for him. He may be a product of his environment.. OR NOT?There are parts of this story , as hard as they are to read, are necessary for the story. Are necessary to understand Nina and others. As soon as I thought the story was going one way, emotionally it went another. There are parts so difficult to read I had to put the book down and come back to it. It is not forced , each and every one belongs in the story. They had to happen to make Nina who she is , what she has become, to explain the predicament she finds herself in. Quite simply to understand her. When you think your heart can't take any more, that it will burst , you turn the page and there's another blow.The story totally engages the reader and you will find yourself guessing(and you won't even come close), wanting to guess, waiting to find out. Though not all answers are given , many are and you don't see them coming...but they do fit, we just aren't as crazy as Ms. Blair to be able to figure her/the story out.Favorite scenes:Nina and someone in the hotel suite sitting knee to knee on the floor both looking out the window watching the snow and what happens afterwards.The steamiest, hottest scene in the book and quite honestly I haven't heard specifics about it in the buzz out there. I can't wait for you all to read it....OMGGGG!!It has been such a long time since I read a smart,true, good mind screw. I love them, I love deep emotional books that tear out my heart so having both combined is perfection for me.OK so I get it we all hate cliffys, but every now and then a book is worthy of the wait , dare I say , worthy of the CLIFFY. Why would you deprive yourself of a BRILLIANT read when there is such drivel out there? We don't like cliffy's but we will buy up all the serial's that are currently being released? I just don't get the difference. Something to ponder...I hope you get caught up in Bang and let it blow you away like I did. Trust me on this, READ IT NOW. I was questioning everything! It’s almost impossible to explain my feelings. There were parts that were absolutely heart wrenching and soul shattering. There were moments where I read in disbelief at the coldness of our villain. Sometimes the villain became a victim and the victim became a villain. There were times when romance blossomed most inopportunely and it warmed my heart so unexpectedly. And times — where a twist shocked the hell out of me, making it difficult to process what I felt. Bold and Daring. It’s incredibly well written in a voice that is both fiercely cold and tellingly sad. Bang is a tortuous tale of a girl who was left on her own, destroyed by the most evil of people and rebuilt with the sole purpose of seeking vengeance.❝ 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙄 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙖 𝙂𝙤𝙙 𝙄’𝙢 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙚𝙭𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄’𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙪𝙥 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙚, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙄’𝙢 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚. ❞We meet our protagonist, our villain, as a child. How the past shaped the present. How Nina turned herself off and became “frozen and void.” How her life morphed into a well-calculated plan. How she went from having nothing to living a life of luxury and bereft of love.❝ 𝙄’𝙢 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙚. ❞Nina is married to Bennett Vanderwal. He’s super rich and he loves her dearly. And she hates him. We can see there’s a plan at play, but how and exactly why that plan came to be is a mystery. There are gaps in the story, connections yet to be made that will shed light on the entire thing. Nina went from being hunted to being the huntress. She’s such a complex character. She’s bad. She’s good. She’s broken. I think that almost all of the characters we meet are flawed in one way or another… multifaceted beings that when pushed too far could — and would — break. All in all, Nina impressively rose from the ashes and became a manipulative and powerful player, single-focused and fueled with insidious intent.❝ 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙖 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡, 𝙣𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙡𝙖𝙬𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙛𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧, 𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙢𝙪𝙙𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧. ❞And then she meets Declan. The man who would make it all happen. The missing piece to her plan. Wealthy. Gorgeous. Passionate. He was exactly who she needed him to be.3.5-4 stars. I really enjoyed this book. Holly hell that was intense. I'm not even sure what to say. It was disturbing, it was brutal, yet I had to continue. Each page I turned I felt the anguish nina/Elizabeth was feeling. The undeniable love between her and Declan. I just don't know. Read it for yourself. You'll understand my loss of words.

Uau... Eu simplesmente não sei por onde começar. Eu não consigo me lembrar da última vez que um livro tenha evocado em mim tantas emoções e sentimentos paradoxais. Assim, que eu comecei a lê-lo eu tinha certeza de que ele não era para mim, afinal como eu poderia gostar de uma estória na qual a heroína é uma vilã fria e calculista? Mas, por algum motivo eu não consegui parar de lê-lo, mesmo quando ele se tornou absolutamente devastador e perturbador. E quando eu menos esperei eu estava completamente tomada pela trama. Este livro é sombrio, sórdido, forte, explícito e completamente... brilhante! Isto mesmo, a trama é de uma originalidade incrível e seu enredo é cheio de suspense e reviravoltas. Esta não é uma estória de contos de fadas, é uma estória sobre uma menina que teve seu mundo destruído e passou a ser movida pela vingança.A narrativa conta a estória de Nina, que tinha uma vida perfeita com seu pai amoroso e carinhoso. Até o dia em que ele foi preso e seu mundo desmoronou. Esta parte da trama me lembrou bastante o seriado Revenge da Sony. Tenho certeza de que a autora se inspirou nele para escrever esta estória. Mas, as semelhanças terminam por aí. Enquanto no seriado mencionado, a protagonista teve uma infância sofrida em decorrência da prisão/morte de seu pai, ela ainda possuía uma bondade que eu não conseguia achar em Nina. Ademais, o passado de Nina é incomparável. Ele é dilacerador, mortificante, torturante, horrendo... não há adjetivos para descrevê-lo. Prepare-se para experimentar cenas extremamente fortes e perturbadoras.Após a prisão de seu pai, Nina viveu pulando de casa em casa no sistema de assistência social. Ela estava completamente perdida, desolada e sozinha até que ela conhece Pike. Ela o tem como um irmão mais velho e ele a protege com unhas e dentes. O laço que eles formam dura até a vida adulta quando a ideia de buscar vingança torna-se real.O livro alterna entre o presente e o passado. Então conhecemos a infância de Nina e ao mesmo tempo o presente com a sua vingança já em andamento. E assim, observamos lentamente a evolução do personagem de nossa vilã. Devo dizer que a sua construção é magistralmente desenvolvida e será possível – não sei se a palavra certa seria justificar, mas talvez – entender os atos de Nina...O presente nos traz Nina já casada com Bennett Vanderwal, um homem extremamente rico e que aparentemente a ama loucamente. Logo de cara dá para ver que há um plano em ação. Mas, como o plano tomou raízes ou o seu motivo é um mistério. A estória é cheia de lacunas que vão sendo preenchidas no decorrer da estória.Somos, então introduzidos à Declan. Ele é a peça que estava faltando para completar o plano de Nina e Pike. Ele é rico, poderoso e está completamente apaixonado por Nina. Agora, tudo o que ela tem que fazer para dar andamento à sua vingança é... destruir a vida dele. Será que ela conseguirá? Confesso que o tom do livro é tão sombrio e dilacerante que eu fui surpreendida ao ver a possibilidade de um romance florescer no meio de tanto ódio.A dicotomia entre o passado e o presente neste ponto da estória é brilhantemente desenvolvida. Há uma frieza enorme quanto ao tom da estória contada no presente. E ao mesmo tempo, uma sensibilidade desmedida quando somos levados ao passado. É possível entender como Nina se transformou na pessoa que ela é, e a qual eu realmente acreditei não ter salvação. Mas, de repente é possível enxergar o seu lado vulnerável por traz de uma fachada tão bem construída a fim de esconder o medo que ela possui de se deixar sentir e de ter esperança. Ela sempre acreditou que nunca iria encontrar a felicidade ou amor.Os personagens desta estória são complexos e multidimensionais. Todos são falhos de uma forma ou de outra, o que os torna reais e críveis. Era incrível como a minha percepção quando aos personagens mudava o tempo todo e ao final eu não sabia mais de quem gostar, sentir pena ou raiva.A forma como Bang termina... uau! O que eu posso dizer é que eu mal posso esperar pela continuação. Esta é um daquelas estórias que te deixará pensando nos personagens e na trama por dias. Você experimentará suspense e romance, desespero e esperança, ódio e amor. Sabe aquele abreviação em inglês WTF? To say that I was engrossed in this book would be a severe understatement. I was captivated from the get go and until the very last word, I was lost, mesmerized, disturbed, wrecked and left void of all emotions. Yes, it really is that bad! But bad in a good way, you will be sucked in, shocked, twisted, gutted, stunned, appalled but you most definitely won't want to put this one down. Once that book hit my kindle it was like it was super glued, the urggghs and the arggghs emanating from my voice box had my husband wanting a blow by blow commentary, never before have I read such a twisted book that, yes is disturbing but was so intriguing and captivating that although I was shocked, I didn't have time to digest, I just had to keep on going...then at the end it hits you...and then you think WTF have I just read...you have just been BANG' d."THEY SAY WHEN you take revenge against another you lose your innocence. But I'm not innocent. I haven't been for a very long time. My innocence was stolen from me. Taken was the life I was supposed to have. The soul I was born with...Vengeance is what I seek to reclaim what was viciously ripped from me. So now? Now I plot. Now I take control. Now I don my crown of hatred."EK Blair was extremely brave in writing and publishing this book, she covers taboos like no other; she went THERE...several times. The subject matter, at times was depraved, shameful but intense, I actually felt guilty reading it and enjoying it. I asked myself several times, how can I be loving this? But that is testament to the skill of this authors writing...even though you shouldn't you do.All-consuming, frenzied, passionate, revolting, fascinating, addictive, bewildering, twisted, dark, vengeful, hypnotic, harrowing, heart breaking, conflicting, I could go on and on and on, but I have never felt this passionate about something that totally left me reeling. Is it sick that I want more? I don't think so, it is just such a powerful story that I could not help but fall in love with this book; I was well and truly BANG'd."The truest part of a person is always the ugliest. And with your evasiveness, I would bet that you're pretty damn ugly beneath all that gloss."This is one of those books where I cannot say much about the contents; in fact I am going to say nothing so this will be my shortest review ever. This book needs to be read to be believed, it is a journey and an experience where you have to go in blind, with no preconceived ideas, taste it, devour it, feel it, live it and hopefully you will come out the other side with your heart intact. I cannot stop thinking about this book. Kudos to EK Blair, she nailed this one, so freakin good.

Well where the heck do you start with a book like this? TRAGiC comes to mind!! Some scenes in this book left me gasping and shaking my head, it was very upfront and graphic but l see that it needed to be told in order to get a feel for the two main characters. This is not for the faint hearted though. Abuse, love, betrayal, loss, conflict, belonging, these are the main feelings you feel along the reading journey... I am so conflicted with my feelings right now. Ms Blair has a knack for telling the story of the most tragic events and making them seem so real. I just hope we don't have to wait too long to find out what happens next?
