Not a fan.
I've found that while sturdy in general, I have three of these stands where the top piece becomes loose and freely spins/wobbles. In other words, if I take my thumb and index finger to the top threaded piece, I can move it back and forth and up and down. When I put a mic on the stand, it wobbles due to this poor construction. The rest of the stand is sturdy, it's just the top threaded piece that comes loose from the shaft.

broke in just under 2 years of use
The threads where the clip goes on got loose pretty quick and the threads where the pole attached to the base became looser and looser until the pole snapped right off the base during a show at just under 2 years of use. The pole was leaning and then I turned around and the pole had completely detached from the base and fell over.

Very nice and is short enough for my 6 year old to use comfortably
I originally purchased the Memorex MKS-SS1 SingStand Home Karaoke System for my 6 year old, who wanted a microphone on a stand. He is of average height for his age, but he was still too short for the Sing Stand, so I purchased this stand along with the On Stage MY250 Shure Type Microphone Clip so that he can use it along with the Sing Stand until he grows a little more. This one is the perfect height for him and he absolutely loves it. The base feels like it's made of iron, so it is very heavy weight, which is perfect so that it doesn't get knocked over easily. I am extremely happy with this for the price I paid and the high quality.

Well made, stands the test of time
I actually didn't buy this to use as a mic stand - I bought it as a base for mobile bird perches both in my house and on the go. These have done the job. They have a great, heavy-weight base with rubber feet that don't scratch my wood floors, and are heavy enough that one will hold a solid wood perch and more than one parrot without wobbling. The fact that the pole unscrews from the base makes it great for travel. The variable height makes it easy to keep my birds happy depending on whether the company we're in is standing or sitting. I honestly couldn't be happier. :)

Breaks easily.
All the cast iron part are lasting, but the additional plastic pieces break very easily. The plastic piece that holds the microphone actually arrived broken! The screw that allows you to tighen adjust the microphone tilt and angle became stripped and unusable after just a few uses. Luckily for me, the microphone I purchased had parts that were compatible and I was able to make due by substituting the broken parts that came and deteriorated quickly with this mic stand with the parts that came with the mic. If you want a quality mic stand, you're going to have to spend a bit more. I wish I had.

This mike stand is quality metal and worked just fine.
Always fun to get something so heavy and awkward in mail. Iron. Some assembly but easy to use. Recommended.

Surprisingly heavy base
I wanted some round-base mic stands, rather than tripod stands, to use around a Leslie speaker. The tripod stands I already had were taking up too much floor space. These were some of the least expensive round-base stands I could find. I expected the bases to be on the lighter side, but I didn't think it would be a problem as the stands shouldn't get touched much. I was pleasantly surprised with the weight of the bases; pretty much zero risk of falling over, at least for my purposes!
