The best book on the market for space systems analysis and design. The database access that comes with the book is also excellent.

Less than expected for the price.

Unlike its predecessor (SMAD), SME does not include material analysis and mechanical analysis of stress for materials, which is a huge area of consideration in spacecraft and space mission engineering. A seriously overlooked area. Having a CD included, which might have contained the earlier SMAD and software applications for both SME and SMAD, would’ve been perfect. As is, SME is worth only half (or less) of its price.
