Comfortable and sturdy
This brush is really comfortable on my scalp. I like the size of it, too. It's easy to hold without feeling clunky or too small.I have short, straight hair, so I can't speak to whether this holds up in long, tangled or curly hair. I suspect it would work nicely. For my hair, though, it goes through easily and styles it naturally. I prefer using this brush over a comb most days, since it looks more natural. When I do use a comb, though, I use a Kent comb (I have two -- a Kent 20T Folding Comb and a Kent the Handmade Comb - 182 Mm Medium Coarse and Fine Toothed Comb Sawcut 6t).All in all, this is a great brush from a great brand and I highly recommend it.

Pay the extra and get this quality brush
Bought one when I was in England and haven’t seen these in the store in the US. Great brush. Pay the extra for a good make and it’ll last fir years. The mini fits in a purse or pocket and works just as well as the full size, which is not always the case. I will buy more so I have one in each purse. Gets the knots out of my long hair without breaking the hair and the brush is sturdy and has a nice grip on the handle.

Great brush!
Absolutely couldn't be happier with this brush. I wanted something that was plain and simple and this works great. The bristles don't hurt my scalp and it does a great job of keeping my hair untangled without pulling during use. The brush is also comfortable to hold in your hand while using, in my opinion.I spent a lot of time trying to find something that wasn't too colorful, but didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for just a hair brush. This brush checked all the boxes. As a guy with medium length hair (no bun, braid, or ponytail), I will definitely be using this brush for a long time to come!

Major decline in quality in less than 2 years
I have a different type of Kent brush that I like, so when I was looking for a smaller brush like this in early 2018, I gave the mini head hog a shot. I thought it was great. It had a good handle, comfortable bristles, and a decent feeling of heft and quality for a small, inexpensive hair brush. It was an order of magnitude better than the cheap brushes that the local stores had in stock.I dropped the 2018 brush on the floor a couple of weeks ago (late 2019), and it broke in half at the neck. So I reordered the same one. What an amazingly depressing decline in quality in less than 2 years. See attached photo. The remnant of the old brush is on the left, and the new brush is on the right. The new brush is noticeably thinner and cheaper-feeling. The old brush has larger tips on the nylon bristles, thicker bristles, and more cushioning in the pad under the bristles. The old brush even has a nice finishing touch-- on the back of the brush, there is an insert underneath the semi-transparent plastic so that you can't see the underside of the bristle pad. This is absent on the new brush, and you can see right through to the underside of the bristles. The new brush does not appear to be substantially different than the cheap brushes I can get at the local store. If you are naively assuming, like I did, that Kent's Royal Warrant for brushes is a reliable indicator of quality, think again.I would give this 3 stars, as there's nothing about this item that is above average. I'm deducting another star because I think it's rotten for established brands to abuse the trust of their customers by reducing the quality of their products. I won't buy this again, and I'll think carefully about buying any other Kent product.UPDATE June 2020:Ha ha ha. This thing barely lasted six months. The cushioned brush part split in the middle and dislodged from the handle. What a piece of junk. Downgraded to one star-- deserves zero. What a way to squander your brand's reputation.

Love it!
My 8 year old grandson has hair to his shoulders. He stayed with me a couple of weeks and never wanted to comb his hair. He uses detangling conditioner, but even with using that, the large tooth comb he used was pulling and breaking his hair! It always looked horrible and he hated combing his hari. I thought this brush looked nice for male or female. He absolutely loved it! He couldn't believe how easily his hair combed out and how soft his hair felt. His hair never felt soft before because it was always such a mess! He thought it looked like it was an expensive brush, and he brushed his hair without me telling him to. I was so pleased at what a change this brush made for both of us! He couldn't wait to show his parents.

Nice While it Lasted
This is one of many Kent products I own, and their Head Hog brush has served great in the first 11 months. It’s smaller size is still easily manageable, but makes it great for travel. Note that after 11 months of daily use however, it recently has split its nylon base, causing bristles to pop out. It unfortunately needs to be replaced soon. I will be trying another version in hopes it holds up better.

Favorite Brush for fine hair styling.
I have been using Kent Headhog Cushioned Nylon Brush since 1991! Many replacements later this is still the best brush I have ever used. It is gentle on my hair for brushing out hair spray or tangles or wet hair. I use it for curling the hair under or flipping it over while blow drying and it is the perfect size for both. It is great for blow drying my bangs as well. I can never find it this brush in stores so I always buy it on line. It is so great to see it on the Amazon site for a reasonable price. Great product!
