Eastern Manufacturing 70258 Catalytic Converter (Non-CARB Compliant)

Nissan Quest, having a acceleration problem, this is your fix. We were getting numerous codes, including misfire in cylinders, but strange symptoms. Engine ran smooth at idle, plenty of power evident, but when gas pedal pressed, engine would bog down and no rpm over 2500, same when on gear on the road. These vehicles have 3 catalytic converters, one after each exhaust manifold, then one after both. In this case, the cat after manifold between engine and fire wall was decomposing, and thus ended up clogging the 3rd cat. We purchased this cat to replace the 3rd, and saved a lot of $ by welding it in ourselves (the entire cat assembly in $300+ range). We cut the factory off with a bandsaw, and welded this cat under $50 and the onwer says the vehicle feels like it has a turbo now...that’s a good outcome. The engine had no ability to breat out and the ecu protection activated to keep rpms under 2500, after cat replacement, engine now has free flowing exhaust passage.
