BRAVEN BRV-HD Wireless Bluetooth Speaker [28 Hour Playtime][Water Resistant] Built-in 8800 mAh Power Bank Charger - Black

I have purchased dozens of Bluetooth speakers over the last few years. This model has fit my needs more than any other speaker. Since then, I have purchased about 15 of these speakers.The battery life is excellent, you can charge other devices from the speaker, and it is very loud. Yes it is heavy, but definitely worth it. I assemble battery powered projector kits that are backpacked into the hill of India. A medical team serves the community all day and then we break out the projector kits to show the Jesus Film in the evening. This speaker will play for about 100 people. It has survived many many overseas trips, drops, water, heat, and it just keeps going. I highly recommend it.

I'm going to try and keep this review brief and write it in a pro/con style.AUDIOPro:I was looking for a powerful large speaker and this speaker did the job the speaker was very loud, actually this speaker was able to fill up my school's band hall and was more then enough to make kids walking around with beats pills feel bad.Con:The speaker's SRS WOW sound was absolutely terrible it created some sort of weird staticy noise which did not make the music sound any better.CHARGING/POWERPro: This speaker had a built-in power bank which was amazing and it charged quickly The battery also lasted a while and kept continous music going at full volume (while charging 2 phones) for a full party (about four or five hours).Con:Charging was a wee bit of a hassle as it did not charge by micro usb as most bluetooth speakers do. Also this speaker did not have an auto off function which would be nice and you can't play music while it's charging.CONNECTIVILITYPro: The bluetooth works well and has a large range. The speaker also has an aux in in case your device doesn't have (or you don't want to use) bluetooth.Con: I was unable to connect it to my friend's Brv-hd.RUGGEDNESSPro:This speaker is a tankCon:it's a heavy tankOverall this is a good speaker just that the SRS WOW audio is bad and it is over priced I would value this speaker at around 150-180$ not the 240$ which I paid. I bought this speaker about a month ago. The pros on this speaker, is the sound is good and loud. I don't believe that the battery life goes up to 28 hours, but when I use this speaker I am playing at a loud volume most of the time. The con on this speaker is that the Lithium Ion battery is non replaceable. I called Braven and they confirmed that this was so, but they did state that if it occurred during the warranty, they would replace the speaker. So, we will see what the lifespan of the battery is. Bottom line, so far, I'm satisfied with this purchase.

I have owned, used, and abused this speaker for 8 months now, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about a hearty, portable Bluetooth speaker with an exceptional battery life. I use it every day at work in a loud warehouse and haven't needed the volume turned all the way up. It has survived kayaking, backpacking, and rock climbing with me. Plus it's hefty enough that you could kill a muskrat with it.

This speaker is awesome! Sounds great outdoors, super long battery life!! I am amazed how much better sounding it is over the same types of speakers on the market. We use it when we raft out on our boat on the lake and works great.

I gave this a 1 Star because I bought this two years ago this month and have barely used it this past year and it will not connect to my phone nor anyone else’s. We’ve tried everything. Super disappointed because this was very expensive.

I love my Braven. I bought this for my everyday everywhere use and it does me well. Great sound. Hard to hear if your outdoors and your trying to play music. For a huge big crowd outside. But overall I think it's good enough for me. Water doesnt affect it. I've dropped it and it's fine.

I like the simple design and ability to kick out sound. Many reviews mention its ability to kick out sound. It does, but I would not mind a little more sound. I appreciate the simple design and understand that it is a touch heavy for good reason. It has a good battery, and is sturdy and does make a decent level of noise. It is great for my needs.

This speaker was fantastic, great sound quality... however 4 months down the line it won't turn on at all. I am not sure whether this has something to do with the charger being broken or speakers blown... unsure?? Would I be able to contact the seller, or exchange it?

meine bewertung gilt dem brv-hdich war anfangs doch schon sehr abgeschreckt von dem preis von 299€...also machte ich mich auf die suche nach anderen Lautsprechern in diesem preissequemt um herauszufinden was alle denn so bieten... ich muss gleich im vorraus sagen das meine hauptmerkmale nicht auf dem perfekten klang oder ähnliches lagen.... da ich in einer schon sehr lauten umgebung arbeite wollte ich einen lautsprecher der erstens mindestens acht std musik spielt und das vor allem zweitens LAUT... es bringt mir nämlich nichts das mein akku 40 std hebt wenn ich ihn nur auf stufe 1 von 20 habe....wie gesagt laute Arbeitsumgebung.... nachdem ich marken wie bose (billig china ware innendrin mit schicker verpackung aussen mit made in usa logo und ein schlechtes dumpfes soundspektrum das andere als tollen sound mit reichlich bass empfinden... und das bose logo das es um 100€ teurer macht(dies ist meine eigene auffassung)), teufel(gute deutsche arbeit aber dann doch zu groß und schwer), b&w(zu kurze akkulaufzeit) ausschloss, blieben nurnoch beats pill xl, ue boom, ue megaboom und der hier beschriebene braven(von dem ich vorher noch nie etwas gehört habe und man über den brv-hd sehr wenig findet)... billigere geräte hab ich schon probegehört, getestet und entweder sie gefielen mir nicht, die akkulaufzeit war viel zu kurz auf max vol oder der ton war so miserabel das man sie nur leise hören konnte ohne aus den ohren zu bluten.... also dann doch was teures und nur einmal bezahlen... die beats fielen raus, da man einfach zu viel für den namen zahlt und die laufzeit zu kurz war.... der ue boom war mir nicht laut genug und der megaboom hatte, wie der boom auch, einfach ein komisches abstrahlverhalten.... klar man will hier einen 360 grad sound erreichen aber es kam mir immer so vor als würde ich nur die hälfte der musik und lautstärke abkriegen, egal wie ich ihn hinstelle oder versuchte zu mir auszurichten... also was solls dann bestellen wir halt den braven.... zu meinem glück hab ich ihn auch noch im Angebot für 230€ bekommen... das ding kam, gleich aufgemacht(coole verpackung und selbst das styropor hat ein braven logo) 12std ans ladegerät und am nächsten tag ab auf arbeit... ich wurde erst seltsam angesehn weil ich ihn an den straps trug... fragen wie:warum hast du nen backstein dabei? blieben nicht aus... als ich das ding dann aber aufstellte und voll aufdrehte waren alle augen inklusive meiner ziemlich groß... nach acht stunden beschallung ging ich mit einem grinsen, vieler neidischer blicke und noch geschätzten 1,5 leuchtenden leds(15%) nach hause... zu hause dann noch ca 2,5 std auf normaler lautstärke im srs wow modus musik gehört und vollstens zufrieden den tag ausklingen lassen... der srs mode ist glaub ich nicht für jedermann und es ist manchmal nach einiger spielzeit nicht mehr zu definieren ob er nun eingeschaltet ist oder nicht, da man sich so an den ton gewöhnt...man hört definitiv einen unterschied wenn man switched aber ich muss sagen mir gefallen beide modes... srs zuhause für einen gewissen volleren klang und den normal mode auf arbeit weil er sich gefühlt lauter anhört(auf bass will ich bei einem bluetooth lautsprecher dieser größe und dieses volumens nicht näher eingehn)...naja genug drum rum geredet.... die leute von braven(made in usa :-D) haben hier echt tolles geleistet... also wer einen gut klingenden bluetooth lautsprecher sucht der richtig laut kann und das noch ziemlich lange und auch noch das nötige kleingeld hat der ist hier an der richtigen stelle... von mir gibts volle 5 sterne da meine kriterien noch übertroffen wurden.

Update....We've been using this speaker all the time....mostly at the cottage but in the winter in the garage when I'm out BBQing or having a few pints. The speaker functions like new....battery still holds a full charge and sounds great. I've purchased a few Bluetooth speakers in the past but we've never experienced this kind of quality. After a year of complete satisfaction I had to update my review....one of the best wireless toys I've ever purchased.I've been using this speaker for three months now and it has performed flawlessly. I've had a number of bluetooth speakers and the quality of the sound from the Braven HD is second to none. It's a heavy speaker so I'm not sure if I'll be hauling it around too much. The ability to charge mobile devices through the speaker power bank is handy but in my case it will probably be at home most of the time where I have other means of charging devices. I have run the battery right down and the advertised 28 hour play time is pretty accurate. Overall I'm very impressed with the performance, look and flexibility of this speaker....highly recommended.
