Double Check before installing
I needed a CMOS clock battery for an old IBM THinkPad 600E laptop that was forgetting time and date. The battery is easy to get at under a bottom cover by removing one screw. I purchased a single CR2025 3V lithium battery and tried soldering the wires (with connector) from the old battery to the new battery, but could not get solder to stick to the metal of the new CR2025 battery (the original wires were spot welded). So I purchased this ready made battery with wires and connector. When starting to plug this new battery into the laptop, I noticed the red and black wires were reversed on the connector. Fortunately I was able to carefully removed the contacts from the connector housing and correct the reversed polarity. (It takes sharp tweezers, a pin and magnifier to do this as the connector is quite small.) After fixing the reversed plus (red wire) and minus (black wire), the battery plugged into the IBM ThinkPad 600E laptop and worked fine. So I suggest that you compare the red and black wires of your old battery to this new battery to make sure it is correct before plugging it into your computer.

Proprietary
This CMOS battery is a standard 2032 battery customized by IBM, having attached a wire to it to connect inside the laptop. Other manufacturers have long since made them without a wire connector, simply snapping into a slot. Not only is that easier to do, but then you can buy the battery anywhere. The PC is old, so maybe they are making them better nowadays.

Small Battery, difficult to install for me!
The battery was great, although the shipping cost more than the battery did. I also had a hard time replacing the battery in my T20 Think Pad Laptop. It was obvious to where the tiny micro-connector of the battery should go, but it was very difficult for me to get it connected. (I have large hands and the connector is up and back in the compartment). I had to connect it differently within the battery frame from when I took it out. In the end, it worked fine. I had to use some very small tweezing tools to line up the connector before I pushed it into position. It took me a hour to replace this battery, but it was NOT the battery's fault.

Wrong battery
Although the description was correct, the battery was not the right one for my IBM 600X. The polarity is reversed at the connector, compared to the original battery.

Correct battery for original Thinkpad 600 model 2645
I was given a stack of Thinkpad 600 model 2645 laptops all with the same error. I wanted to build basic workstations using DSL Linux, so I ordered a bunch of these. All errors fixed now, and all I need to do is figure out how to get x to come up right.A note about the negative reviews. It looks like IBM changed the polarity on the battery connector for later model 600 laptops. Look at your battery and compare with the picture for this item.
