Melnor Quick Connect Faucet Adapter

This review is in response to bad experiences with OTHER products. The Melnor items seem expensive, but they just work. The half-price version I tried first was also solid brass, but was so badly made that it did not screw fully into my hoses and spigots. The Melnor is also solid brass, but plays with hoses and spigots so well that you don't even think about any issues.

But I did get it to work

Have used both these and a metal type of connection. These work better for a longer time.

Easy to use and reliable. Just not however that unlike plastic attachments, you will not be able to connect these under pressure. So you must turn off the water when connecting. Especially true for the female connectors.

This little gadget is my hero. My apartment bldg doesn't have a faucet in the backyard so I have to run my hose out my kitchen sink to fill the pool. I live on the top floor. Neither my boyfriend nor my brother could figure it out and thought that it just didn't "fit" my kitchen faucet to connect my hose. My brother was preparing to go to the hardware store to find something else. In their defense, it came with no instructions or picture. I looked at it for 45 seconds, turned the piece around and inserted the narrower piece into my kitchen faucet. One snap later, voila, it worked! Girl power! This adapter saved my bbq gathering and the kiddies got to play in the pool.

We use these connectors for our hoses and sprinkler fixtures. This metal piece is great for your water spout as it will get the most action and plastic may fail on you sooner than later.
