Kohala Akamai Soprano Uke Pineapple

This ukulele is adorable and lovely. The sound is good. It's been all over the midwest in all kinds of weather, and seen so many pairs of hands, I've lost count.There is nothing like strumming away on a happy little instrument on a cold, drizzley day.I played guitar before getting this and I can tell you it was incredibly easy for me to pick up. I've taught people with no stringed instrument background to play, and they were able to pick it up very quickly. Most beginners learn the chord shapes fairly easily, but struggle with switching. It is much easier to switch between chords with only 4 strings instead of 6. My 10-year-old sister (who, granted, has a knack for arts of every kind) was playing "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz within an hour of picking up the ukulele.

I love my uke! I've had this for about a year now! I love practicing with this little uke. It definitely has a more resonant sound than Kohala's traditional body style soprano. I ended up adding a strap with a button on the bottom of this. Later I installed a piezo pickup inside under the bridge where a doubler piece of wood is built. Fit perfectly, then had to drill a 5/16" hold in the base to install my 1/4" jack receptacle. It's a blast to play with an amp and foot pedal!

Item is listed as being 34" long but is only 21" long. Way too small for my use. Dont know if they have one 34" long as I cant seem to get an answer from them so warning others will have to do. The uke I received is very well made but didn't tune and play so cant tell how it sounds. If they had one 34" long I would definitely order.
