Funtime Palace Popper 16 OZ Commercial Bar Style Popcorn Popper Machine - FT1626PP

I bought this for use at my church and we use it pretty often. It is fast, reliable, easy to use and makes perfect corn every time. Careful on the clean up, some edges of the stamped metal are sharp.

I bought the machine in May 2015. We have struggled with it from the time we got it because it just does not make enough pop corn. I have decided to get another. Now in doing my research I see where a 16 0z. popper should use 2 cups of corn & 1/3 cup oil. What came with it was 1/2 cup for corn & 1 Tablespoon for oil. Then I took the measurements for mine, it measures 17 1/2x 14 1/2x 25.6. The measurements on this 16 ounce popper are 16x18.5x 25.6. So now I am thinking they did not actually send me a 16 ounce machine like I ordered. Since I have been using it a year & a half, I will just learn from my mistakes & be sure I get what I ordered. We use ours in a concession stand & it does not even begin to make pop corn fast enough.Last night I decided to use the specifications I found on another site and use 2 cups of corn & 1/3 cup of oil. It was AMAZING! it popped much faster & made a large enough batch of pop corn. So lesson is don't use the measuring items that are sent with the pop corn machine to make your pop corn if you need a lot of pop corn fast. Now after all this time, thanks to looking at what I would need for a pop corn machine, I found the correct measurements for the machine I have.

Decent popper for average usage. I have used it in a concession stand, but we only open once every couple of weeks usually. It kept up ok. My only complaint is that it is difficult to clean. The bottom plate is held in with screws, so you have to unscrew it to get it out and clean it. At the end of a busy concession night, that it the last thing I want to do. The last one we had the bottom lifted out no problem. This has a small tray underneath that slides out that catches the kernels, but there are still stray kernels in other places along with oil and popcorn salt that need to be cleaned. Otherwise, pretty good popper. Good to note that the kettle pops more popcorn than the box can comfortably hold. I use measurements for an 8oz popper and it will hold about one and a half batches.

This is a good size machine and will hold quite a bit of popcorn. We have 5 kids and it holds more than enough popcorn for all of them. This product is well made and very easy to clean. If you're looking at buying a commercial quality popcorn machine for your house, I highly recommend this one.

I have another just the same model and had to order a replacement kettle. When I ordered a 16 oz kettle it was to big (about 12 inch diameter). i researched on line and found that the 10 inch kettle it comes with is a 12 oz kettle. Otherwise the popper works great for my needs. It doesn't pop a large volume of popped corn but it is light weight and can easily be moved around which is what I have to do with it from storage to use and back again.

I purchase this Machine on Oct 2017 with the intention of use it on a Fundraiser school for our PTO, the machine is well build, looks nice, the dimensions are perfect acculturate, the only difference between a 16 onz and a 12 oz is the actual Kettle burner so don't waste money intending to purchase a 16 oz machine thinking that the hall machine is bigger then the 12oz's.. Perfect machine size for a Home will be a 8 oz, bigger then that will require bigger space on your kitchen or TV room..Note: I replace the machine once back on November 2017 with my Prime service no shipping charge No problem, the reason I replaced is due to a malfunction on the Kettle Bering shaft it was not mixing accurately the corn, I received a new machine within 5 day it did work ok for couple time and I had to send it back in January 2018 due to a malfunction on the actual motor of the kettle mixer, the Kettle burner also was taking more then 6 minutes to heat up and as you might imaging for a fundraiser purpose the machines needs to be running fast or as expected.I give it a good 2 chances to this machine, unfortunately I ending shipping it back and requesting my money back which I got back on time no problems, I hope some one take a closer look on this malfunctions because the machine is nice and heavy duty build with a reasonable price, best option will be the 12 oz's lower price same dimensions faster heater on the kettle, but the 16 oz model has few defects..

Beware. The dimensions of this popper are NOT suitable for a 16 oz batch. We already have a 16 oz popper AND a 8 oz popper and this popper is SMALLER than the 8 oz unit. "Smaller" means that not only is the kettle volume smaller, but the holding space for the popped corn is smaller ... by a LOT! If you really want to pop 16 oz of corn in this unit only a limited number of kernels will be in contact with the hot bottom. And when they pop they will eject the overburden of kernels sitting on top of them leaving a lot of the 16 oz unpopped corn in the bottom of the tray.The objective is to have enough "floor space" on the kettle to accommodate one single batch only a few kernels deep. This kettle does not have enough floor space for 16 oz. Pure and simple.With that said, it is a good price for a 8 oz machine.Others have commented on the poor hinges. I concur. When we first opened the box, one hinge was completely disassembled and the parts were rattling around in the bottom of the box. Hmmm...I'll have to treat it gingerly to guarantee much life.
