I really like this watch.
My grandfather wore a Hamilton mechanical watch so I've been wanting to purchase a Hamilton for myself as a reminder of him. I know it's not exactly the same company that made my grandfathers watch, but what can you do, things change.... Anyway, when I saw this as a lightning deal I jumped on it and I'm glad I did. It's simple field watch that can be worn with just about anything (jeans, casual, even dressy). The case has a brushed satin finish with a polished bezel, domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal, polished / luminescent hands, and a polished crown embossed with the Hamilton "H" logo. The dial is a cream color, with black markings with the date window at the 3 o'clock position. The rich brown leather strap is accented with stitching to match the dial. The double buckle closure also has a brushed satin finish and is engraved with the word "HAMILTON". It has a display case back that reads"2824-2- SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL - SWISS MADE - H705450 - WATER RESISTANT 10 Bar/145 Psi - STAINLESS STEEL" and the movement is engraved with "HAMILTON TWENTY FIVE (25) JEWELS SWISS".Out of the box, the leather strap is very stiff, but with time becomes very comfortable, almost custom fit to your wrist. The size and weight of the watch is almost perfect in my opinion.I have not tested it's accuracy, nor do I intend too. I could care less if looses or gains a few (or several) seconds a day. I rotate through a handful automatic/mechanical watches and don't have a winder so I pretty much set my watches daily (or at least weekly). If your looking for a quality field watch, this one's a good choice. The colors are unique, and it's built with top quality materials.

Awesome watch
This is my first Hamilton and I am very happy with the quality and fit of this watch. I have read reviews and heard people say it has a retro look of a Hamilton WW2 watch and it does but with the calf skin leather strap after wearing it for a while it's so comfortable you forget you have it on compared to all my bracelet watches. Right out of the box the ETA 2824-2 movement runs about +3 sec. per day fast, not bad although it seems to run about +10 sec. per day on the watch winder but personally I don't care about that. It will sit on the watch winder for about two weeks before it gets worn again so I have to reset the time no matter what.My entire collection of watches consists of dive watches, all with black dials and stainless steel bracelets so I wanted to get something different. This is it, no regrets, the beige dial, the rich leather strap, the slightly crowned sapphire crystal, and best of all Swiss made with a smooth as butter ETA movement, all for $430.00, free shipping!! My Omega Seamaster and my Tag Heuer Formula 1, move over boys there's a new watch on the block and it's awesome.

Nice looking but not suitable for swimming
Looks and feels good. But didn't work for swimming ... water started to accumulate after I wear it swimming and it would never go away.

Awesome classic styling at a great price
Well made and classical styling without the glimmer of higher priced Swiss made alternatives. Warehouse Deals return was a real bargain with 2-yr warranty from Amazon. No critisms to speak of other than to make sure you like the size of it. 42 mm vs. 38 mm of the standard Khaki Field auto.

Elegant vintage looking Swiss Watch - Good Value
This is a simple and handsome field watch using the proven ETA 2824-2 movement. The quality of the watch is superb as the the quality of the watch band. This is an elegant every day watch for me that is also formal enough to wear with work attire and *will* fit under the sleeves of your shirt, admittedly more easily if you are wearing a shirt with french cuffs. There are some odd comments about the slightly domed sapphire floating around that I don't agree with - its perfectly easy to read despite the lack of anti reflective coating.Mine is running about 6 seconds fast per day and I am fine with that.I was particularly taken with the 'champagne' colored watch face and brown strap over the others as it gives the watch a more vintage understated look, but the others are very fine too. This watch is a 42mm diameter sans bezel piece. After a period of larger (and larger) watches being fashionable, the inevitable swing back is now in force. This watch fits my wrist just fine - wrist is 8.5"+ but i can see how someone with more delicate wrists might favor a smaller model. The very similar (but slightly more busy ) 40mm model is available here: https://www.amazon.com/Hamilton-H70595523-Analog-Automatic-Leather/dp/B009D83O0S

Beautiful Watch on a 22mm band
I was looking for a military watch and narrowed it down to this Khaki Auto 42 mm...either the black dial or beige. I decided the beige was a little more unique than the black dial. I was not disappointed. It is a beautiful watch. It runs very accurately so far. I expect it will level out in the next few weeks, but right now it is running ~3 sec/day slow to 15 sec/day fast.I was concerned with visibility of the light dial/white hands in low light situations. The hands are very visible against the light colored dial, even at dusk. The luminous hands are not particularly bright. The outside numerals and dots are coated with lume as well, but it is significantly weaker than the hands. It is not effectively visible unless charged with flashlight and then for only a short time. I didn't expect the luminosity to be terrific, so it was expected. The band that comes with the watch is a rich dark brown with contrasting white stitching. It is a nice band of decent quality. The description says that the band is 20 mm. It is a 22 mm band, however. I have a couple of 20 mm NATOs and Zulus that I put it on, and it looks fine, though.Overall, I am very happy with my purchase.

Hamilton scam
Extremely disappointed. Bought it through Amazon in March, and in July condensation fills under the crystal. Water resistant up to 330 feet, yeah sure. Can't even see the numbers. Look online, it happens a lot. I am presently waiting on the phone for someone to answer my call. The Swatch group answering computer repeating that they sincerely appreciate my patience...8minutes now...11 minutes...18 minutes..22 minutes...28 minutes...37 minutes... 61 minutes. wow. Lucky I have my old watch, a Locman to time this. I guess I'll try my luck another day. Service at Hamilton-Swatch is as bad as the manufacturing, no surprise there.
