E-MODS GAMING® Xbox One Red Chrome Controller housing Shell - Original Top shell

Well, I withheld my review for a few months, and I'm glad I did. Out of the box, these look incredible, over time, they begin to lose their luster. There are some scratches that I can't deny creating, but there are many little spots and blemishes that have just cropped up over time, without any real provocation. The areas that sit nearest the palms being the primary place of concern for said problems. There are other strange spots that decided to appear elsewhere. To say it's worth $12 is fair, but one has to void the controller warranty during installation which may be a little more of a problem. I go back and forth on it, I love the look, but it probably won't last much longer, unfortunately.

This Xbox One replacement shell appears to be of pretty great quality.Either the chrome coating or shell itself raises slightly surrounding the ABXY, start, select, and D-pad.I don't think this will be an issue, it's just a delta to note from the XBox One standard shell.After using this shell for an extended period of time, there seems to be slight mottling of the chromewhere my hands rest, so it may not last as long as the XBox 360's special chrome shell has. Timewill tell..Additionally, this 3rd-party shell does not seem to be as slick as the stock red chrome Xbox 360controller. I haven't decided if this is good or bad yet.

First impressions:To start, I ordered this April 9. I got it May 11. So that took over a month to ship. However, it came on 3 layers of bubble wrap and a plastic cover. Received it undamaged, and pretty neat.General Assembly:Didn't have any problems putting it together, as I do own a T8 screwdriver (A T8 screw driver is required to dissassemble the controller.). The face plate needs to be tightened a lot in order to make it fit correctly (Unlike some people who purchased this).Feel:Sits well in my hands like the original cover. A little bit slippery, but the bottom grips do the job.A few months later: Still going on strong. Had just a tiny little chip from excess paint being scratched off, but it's barely noticeble. +A little bit of paint came off on the edges.Overall: A great replacement for damaged shells and boring controllers. As it was delivered to me, the product was well packed and was free of damage and manufacturing defects. One will have to disassemble the controller to get it to mount correctly (there seems to be a misconception that these somehow "snap" on to the front of the controller; this is NOT the case!) and a Torx T8 security wrench will be necessary, but once installed, it should fit perfectly. All buttons/sticks/D-pad had proper clearance and movement. Looks fantastic on the controller, and there is less noticeable fingerprint smear. The red color hides it better when compared to the gold or silver colors of the same product. All in all, it is durable, looks great, and is a much cheaper alternative to a special edition controller. Great purchase, five stars.

I actually purchased a red and a blue shell. The blue one was great but this one has two small pock marks in the case and it did not fit like an exact replacement. I presume that this specific one was simply manufactured wrong but it was a disappointment. I am still using it but I will probably replace it soon. Given that they are only around $15 I will probably try another red one before giving up on them.

It does NOT fit the new XBox One wireless controller. We had to use it on an old controller. The red is not a true red. It has a salmon / coral tinge to it. Easy to install, stays on nicely, looks great and shiny when not covered with fingerprints.

Received earlier than expected. Upon inspection of this faceplate, I noticed 3 spots where bubbling occurred. Also, while installing the faceplate, I had to bore out the screw hole slots so that the screws would go in properly. Had these few problems not existed, I would give this product 5 stars.

This thing looks awesome !!! I had no issues installing it myself.You'll need a torx tip but other than that it was easy.The only problem I have us,the red one costs $3-$4 more than the gold.Lower the price to the same as the other colors and it gets 5 stars.
