Protec Tenor Trombone Mute Bag with Modular Divider, model M401

Perfect for what I needed. I am using it for Tenor Horn mutes and can comfortably put in my straight mute, cup mute, and a practice mute (Shhhmute). The pocket on the side perfectly fits my iPad for music. Great solution

Just received this must bag in the mail, and man is it great! It's so huge and roomy, with a moveable divider to keep your mutes from denting each other, and the padding is so thick and soft, just what you need to protect your nice metal trombone mutes. I was able to fit in my Tom Crown cup mute, Jo-Ral straight mute, Stonelined straight mute, Stonelined bucket mute, and a toilet plunger. Heck, if I owned a pixie mute, it would fit in there with room too! It comes with a luggage tag, and a shoulder strap too for ease of carrying. There's also a big front zippered section on the outside of the bag, perfect for holding your various trombone supplies. I'm not sure if I would recommend this bag to bass trombone players, as those mutes are massive. I'm not sure if you could fit more than two bass trombone mutes in it, but I don't own any, so I can't say. I wish that someone else had reviewed this bag before me, because if they had, I would have ordered it a few years ago when I started needing mutes on a regular basis. Protect really should have given some dimensions or a better description of the bag at the very least. It's a great bag, and I don't see why any trombone player needing to carry mutes would be without it!

This was a gift for my high schooler. It is a solid products, especially if you are thinking of getting this for a high schooler.

I am very impressed with this bag, though I am not using it to carry mutes. I wanted a sturdy and convenient bag to carry two full big-band size music folders that are both very full of music. This bag does the trick. I like the short handles for carrying it in my hand and the longer strap to carry it on my shoulder when needed. Although I didn't need these features, the inside is very soft and the divider which attaches to the inside with velcro seems like it would be pretty handy if I needed it. I also like the smaller side pocket -- it is perfect for carrying a smaller paper performance folder but could be used to carry miscellaneous stuff like pencils, valve oil, etc if needed.

For $30, this bag is hard to beat. It will fit: Large bore tenor Stonelined cup mute Jo-Ral straight mute One or two other large mutes You can fit the above all together...,if using small bore tenor mutes, you can fit more... The padding is ok, not thick, but protects against minor dents and bumps. A Hamilton trombone stand fits (sort of/barely) if you have one of the older ones that breaks down into two pieces. The outside music pocket will fit large 11x17 orchestra parts. Again, good bag for the money. Very handy. The only drawback is the difficulty in fitting in a trombone stand.

I play trombone in my city's community concert band and use this bag regularly. It holds my cup mute, my straight mute, my plunger mute, my trombone stand, my music folder, my stand light (when needed), and pretty much any accessory I might need. I have never been unable to fit whatever I needed into this bag. I don't know how I got along without it as long as I did. It is made well and I expect it to last for years. If or when it does wear out, I will buy another without hesitation. Two of my fellow trombone players and one of the trumpet players in the band have purchased this bag on my recommendation and all are very pleased with it. I cannot recommend this bag highly enough. PROTEC has made my life easier.

Excellent quality bag. I carry my mute, and all of my trombone care accessories in this bag. The outer zippered pouch is large enough to carry my sheet music. I lay my folded music stand and trombone stand across the top and the Velcro handle holds them in place where I can carry everything in one hand while I carry my trombone case in the other. I highly recommend this bag. It would last many years because of the great quality. At this time I only have 2 mutes, my Denis Wick cup trombone mute which is big and the trumpet version of the same mute. The dividers would allow me to carry I would say maybe 3 more total depending on their size. All in all, in extremely please works this bag.

This bag holds almost all of my mutes for a gig. It is very light and the strap is long enough for me to put around my head and still carry comfortably. There are two compartments in the main section and a front zipper compartment that is large enough for me to carry Music and other accouterments. I have owned this bag now for a couple of years and it shows no wear and tear. Best mute bag I have ever owned!

Good quality bag which fits 2 tenor trombone mutes, a plunger and a lot more including stand light, peg bag, music stand and trombone stand hanging out of the top. A lot cheaper than other sellers as well! Would highly recommend.

Esperaba que la maleta fuera un poco más rígida, ya saben para cuidar tu inversión en las sordinas pues no salen baratas, la bolsa es un poco debil, además que en la foto muestran que tiene al menos 3 separadores entre las sordinas cuando en realidad solo trae un separador movible que puedes despegar porque se adhiere por medio de velcro, esto no me agradó en absoluto pues vueve más frágil la maleta, o sea, menos protección. Caben al rededor de 4/5 sordinas de trombón. Al menos el alto de la maleta es borde con las sordinas, y trae un bolsa en la parte de afuera, cabe perfectamente el stand de Hércules para sordinas y unas cuantas cosas más como estuche de boquillas. El material es impermeable. Sinceramente siempre que transporto mis sordinas tengo miedo a aplastar la bolsa y ya fue.... 3 estrellas no más por este artículo.

I was a bit skeptical about buying a bag for $75 when I could have just bought any bag and put my mutes in it but I love this bag. It's great for carrying everything you need for rehearsals. I can fit my music folder, technical books, and all sorts of music as well as all 4 of my mutes (Wick metal straight, plunger, straight mute, and cup mute). I also can fit my personal stuff like a water bottle, wallet, etc. It's a great mute bag and I honestly don't mind spending the money on it. I used it everyday and its so much better than using a backpack. (I could honestly probably fit a trombone stand in there too, I just haven't had the need to yet)

This Protec Mute bag is just right if you need space to care up to 5 mutes and your music. I was able to fit in a Straight, cup, Harmon and practice mute along with a plunger in the main pocket using the supplied separater. Much more compact over the "luggage bag" I was using.
