Swanson Activated Charcoal Digestive Support Supplement, 120 Count

I keep this activated charcoal on hand and it’s been reliable. The capsules are easy to swallow and the quality is consistent with Swanson products I’ve used before. I take it occasionally when I feel bloated, and it helps things settle without any harsh effects. No strong taste or smell, and the bottle lasts a long time since I don’t use it daily. Pros: Easy-to-swallow capsules Consistent quality Helpful for occasional bloating Good value for the quantity Cons: Needs to be taken away from food/supplements (normal for charcoal) Bottom line: Solid activated charcoal supplement from a brand I trust. Works well when used occasionally.

Worked great

In our household we use activated charcoal for three very different reasons: 1. Upset stomach. If you've ever had bubble guts, this is an awesome remedy. You can take 1-2 capsules with water, or you can open the capsules into a small glass of water, stir, and drink up. Either way, you'll want to be near a restroom because it will begin to work it's magic within a few hours. I find that it cramps my stomach some, not a lot, though, and the relief actually happens usually within an hour, even if you don't go to the bathroom that soon. 2. Teeth whitening. I've done this two ways as well. One, you can simply pop open a capsule and pour the powder onto your toothbrush and brush, or you can mix it with coconut or olive oil and brush it on that way. The second way is less messy. I read online where a woman pops open the capsule but does it in her bathtub instead of her sink so the water drains it away and there'e less mess to clean up. While I like that option, I don't brush my teeth in the shower because of the amount of water it wastes. You will have to scrub your sink out because the black powder, while it doesn't stain, gets everywhere! Do this a few days in a row, but not every day. Your other option is to do it weekly. You'll notice a different by the 2nd session. 3. I had swollen gums on the bottom right side of my mouth, and my dental insurance hadn't kicked in yet. I brush twice daily, and floss at least once, so I wasn't concerned that I had something horribly wrong in my mouth. But after a few weeks without the swelling going down, I knew I needed to do something. I mixed a capsule with some coconut oil ,then packed the combo along my outer jaw and gum line. I kept it in my mouth until I couldn't, because of the thick saliva buildup. (Don't swallow because you're carrying the toxins right back into your body.) I spit it out, rinsed, then brushed. I did this about 4 days in a row, and each time I could tell the swelling was going down. I stopped for 2 days (because I was lazy), realized the progress had also stopped, and started back up again for about 3 more days - until the swelling was completely gone. I've since been to the dentist and they didn't mention any problems over on that side of my mouth, so that was my confirmation that it really worked.

I used this to get rid of a second round of c.diff from using an antibiotic. My symptoms were totally gone in a week and still going strong. I will always keep this in the cupboard! Thank you!!

with IBS its hard-to-find good products to help with upset stomach gas. This is a good product as is all Swanson products. reasonably prices and they often have sales.

This has saved us from stomach bugs on several occasions. We keep these on hand just for those times when our stomachs are upset with something. Relieves the blotting. Had 2 in the family with a bad stomach bug and this was truly a life saver. Great product
