Great Value at $20...
This router is an excellent value! It works as advertised. The range is great, even if the router is not "in the open". I use that phrase because I have my router on the floor, tucked behind the sofa, yet I get a great signal throughout the house (single story). One frustration I had, was using Wireless-N, whereby the router's range had seemed limited. However, I've learnt that Wireless-N (because of its higher frequency and shorter wavelength) does not penetrate concrete walls (especially steel-reinforced ones) very well (this type of building is typical in the Caribbean, where I reside), so I switched to Wireless-G, and that has helped tremendously. I now get range most spots in the house. Of course, there are still a few "blind" spots, but this, I understand, is typical of any wireless router. The router is very reliable and has been going steady ever since I set it up over a year ago.The router, in that case, is more than worth the price I paid, and setup and administration are really easy. In my opinion, you really can't go wrong with this router, especially at a sale price of $19.99!

Good router, good price, tricky setup
I upgraded from a flakey b/g router, so I'm only using the b/g bands of this router for now, plus the 4 wired ports. Major points:+ Signal reaches farther; I have the router in the basement and kids' ipods get 2 of 3 bars in 2nd story bedrooms. Old router would barely connect or not connect depending on room.+ Router has been rock solid (running for a couple weeks), no reboots needed. My old router often needed a reboot every day.- Router setup CD would not run the main configurator app on Vista. Only the frontend launcher would run.- Manual setup was straightforward but router would not connect to internet. After an hour of frustration I eventually pressed the Reset button on the router, and then it would connect (and DIDN"T lose my settings...)Good b/g router (no experience with n yet), good price, but setup was tricky.

A Workhorse
The web interface is quite thorough. Have been using it as my "internal" router for a couple of years and it has never failed. My setup uses two WiFi routers. One is the "gateway" router rented from Comcast that the incoming broadband cable is attached to. I choose to rent that as lightning keeps taking the gateway router out so I can get it replaced in an hour by going to the Comcast store. The WAN/Internet port of this D-Link 615 is then cabled to one of Comcast router's LAN ports (where a computer would go). As a storm approaches, I usually unplug the DLink-to-Comcast cable.DHCP (automatic assignment of IP addresses) is enabled on both which creates two networks. The Comcast network uses the 10.0.0.1-255 range and the DLink uses the 192.168.1.1-255 range. That puts my primary computers and the printer, which are attached to the DLink, behind two NAT (Network Address Translation) routers. Tablets and Chromecast normally attach by WiFi to the Comcast network but can be connected to the DLink if needed, such as to print something.Works very well.

Dropped packets, no help from tech support; returning to Amazon
We'd suffered under a Linksys router that had to be restarted at least daily, so we were excited to replace it with a newer, more modern router. I'd heard that D-Link was a good brand, but now I can't remember why I bought this when it had so many bad reviews.I've probably spent 12 hours fighting this router now, and I'm finally returning it. It works fine with my windows computers, but with my macs, it blocks various http requests. I tried turning off as many of the router's firewall options as I could, but no luck. So youtube videos don't play, and many internet pages just don't load. I tried calling D-Link tech support, which is apparently in India, but after I was on hold for a long time, the person just took a little bit of my information and then hung up on me.My search for a simple, reliable router continues.

Simple setup and basic wireless functionality
Product arrived quickly and gave us the basic wireless functionality that we needed. No frills but just an inexpensive router that does what it needs to do. I did have to reboot both my laptop and the router to get connectivity but once that was done, I had a working solution. The four LAN ports extend my capabilities and are used for the high-traffic connections (Smart TV) for streaming services so that I don't consume the available wireless capacity, but I am only connecting 2 or 3 devices wirelessly so this is not a major concern, but it is nice to have this feature anyway.

poor range for a WirelssN router
I have been using a Wireless G router for about 5 (D-link 524) years now at my home. It works well, but the signal strength was not particularly good in some of my bedrooms (router in the basement, rooms in upper-level of a 2-storied house). When I bought a new laptop last year with Wireless N, I thought I will get a WirelessN mainly because of its longer range (i.e. not just because of its speed). I found and bought the router here at Amazon. It was cheap enough at around 40$, could support WirelessG and N devices at the same time without dropping all devices to G (unlike many others which switch to G-only for all devices), and it was a D-link.Unfortunately, I didnt see much improvement over my G router, unless I was pretty close to the router. When I was close to the router, the speed was higher (as expected); but I didnt see *any* improvement in range compared to my older router. I tried configuring it for "802.11N mode-only" mode (i.e. without support for WirelessG, but no luck still. So I returned the router, and decided to stick with what I have for now. I didnt see any reason to pay 40$ to get faster wireless speeds for same range. The old one still works, and has good enough speed for the rooms that it does cover.in case it helps: I work in the software development field, use and configure wireless access points at work; and have a 7-node network at home.

Cost effective, very solid unit
I've had this router for almost a year and have been pleased with its performance, especially when considering the price. It was fairly easy to set up (with a little bit of technical know-how), and I've only had to power-cycle it 2 or 3 times in its current lifespan. If you want to be slightly adventurous, it is able to be used with DD-WRT firmware which can give you a little bit more flexibility with the options available. Would buy again.
