Great product
This is the second one we have ordered! One for my home and now one for a gift. This is a great product. All the reviews that I read here and other sites say you can install it yourself fairly easily. I can see that this would be true. However I was having new toilets installed and my plumber put the bidet in at the same time. Only a couple of extra dollars, at the most ten more bucks and that was only because we wanted to hot water line. Since I wanted to use hot water with this I had to place it in a bathroom that has the toilet next to the sink. If you don't do this you will have to run a hot water line can be done just to expensive for me and too much trouble. Now that we have had it awhile I realize we rarely use the hot water on it. I don't live in a very cold weather place, north central Texas. We will see as we go through our first winter if we will need the hot water. I do have worries when we have small children visiting of them playing with the unit and burning themselves if they turn the hot water all the way. We simply shut the water off at the sink if we are babysitting young kids or have them use the other bathroom. The biset works great. It cleans well. It isn't very cumbersome. Some people don't even notice it. I was afraid it would shoot water everywhere and I would be cleaning up all the time but it doesn't. This is a really great product. It leaves you feeling very clean. The spray is adjustable, you can get it pretty powerful or have it quite gentle. I really love this bidet.

If you are second guessing, just buy it!
This product is a great product. I am an overweight male, not by just a few pounds. The product is built in such a way that after weeks of use it is still just as sturdy as when it arrived. It was easy to put together. I feared it was going to be difficult to keep clean, but it is perfectly easy to clean, and just as easy to keep the bowl clean. It mixes the cold and hot water perfectly. It performs its job perfectly, leaving the backside with a smooth clean feeling. I considered purchasing a bidet many years ago. After finaling purchasing it I would I would have done so all those years ago. I would recommend this product for anybody.UPDATE: I've now had this product installed for about eight months. It works just as great now as when I first installed it. I don't have a single complaint. It's been a great product and I highly recommend it.

Be warned : Hot water valve, disconnected hose, bad combination
On the third day, the hot water tubing popped off and it doused my bathroom. Good thing I was in the home when it happened. Even though it was only spraying for about a minute, there was quite a bit of water. (Imagine turning on your hot water to the sink to max -- that is exactly what happens.)I loath to imagine if I was at work and this was going on for eight hours. On the fifth day, it happened again. I was on the, ahem, throne at the time and high-pressure hot water fired straight into my person. (Imagine taking a hot shower with just the hot water and with the water on maximum.)Given what's at stake with the hot water hose being attached firmly and staying attached, it would make sense that they designed it with a very good mechanism, right? You would think. The fact that only a vinyl tube is provided for the hot water hose was criticized in another review. The manufacturer read that review and responded. They said that vinyl tubes are pretty much in every braided hose you purchase anywhere. So someone pointed out a design weakness, and instead of reconsidering the design, the manufacturer (Brondell -- in case people forgot) defended it.I'm pointing out a design flaw.I'm also pointing out a manufacturer's character flaw. They're saving a few bucks on good hot water tubing. So people who install it themselves can have flooded bathrooms or poached shoulders.I did talk with customer service. They were nice but, again, didn't feel like they could have possibly designed it differently, you know, like with standard T-joints that connect with standard braided hoses used for sinks and such that you can find in a hardware store.(BTW, if you go to a hardware store, you will not find the T-joint and pressure cap that is used on this product in the plumbing aisle -- because it is not a good plumbing solution.)

Bidet attachment
Hello -- I chose 4 star because there is a learning curve that most probably would not think about. One must place ones "bottom" in the exact right place. Then one must not be in a hurry - 15 seconds at the least is a must. Also, I had believed that it would save on toilet paper. There is no saving here when so much of the area is dripping wet. Then too one of the required fasteners was not the right size and there was a leak. Since I had help, it was no problem, but it might be if one did not have the proper fitting washer. These products are wonderful. I told the plumber that I was sorry that I could not try one out before the purchase."JK"

I had always wanted a bidet, and my husband & I are both loving this one!
I had always wanted a bidet, & we're loving this one! I looked through possible options including prices & features and reading customer reviews. This Brondel FSW-20 Dual Temperature Bidet attachment, has everything I wanted! It was a little hard for my husband to figure out the hot water line part but he finally got it. I haven't used toilet paper since he got it hooked up, I mean what would you rather have a Washed bottom or a wiped one? Hands down, a washed one, right?! Having the option of whatever temperature you personally want, for whatever season it is, is just the most Awesome option. Plus saving money on your toilet paper bill. Believe me, you & your family will Love it too and you'll wonder why you didn't get one sooner!

Great Product Use With Care
Caution! We have very hot water and it mixes with the cold coming into the bidet causing an initial burst of super hot water. No way to prevent this mixing. To prevent scalding, simply run the bidet on the "Nozzle Cleaning" setting for a few seconds. This clears hot water out of the cold water line and gives you nice warm water at the desired temperature. We absolutely would buy this again.

Proper hygiene at a reasonable price. However, after sales service is quite another matter.
Bidets are very common in the Old World. It is only of recent years that westerners are discovering the benefits of such devices. Hygiene for *all the family*, regardless of sex or age, and more ecologically sound: less paper waste. The Brondell FSW-20 FreshSpa Dual Temperature Bidet is quit fairly price compared to other products on the market. Materials are solid, and include brass among the internal fittings. Installation is quite easy, with a manual that is concisely and well written in all three languages: English, French, and Spanish. However, the installation diagram is somewhat confusing at first glance. They could have indicated the cold water connection with a *black line*, to contrast with that for the hot water. Instead, it appears as if the same line curls back into a loop where it connects to the bidet. (In short, a quite basic _graphics design_ flaw_!)I question why there's no option to simply connect both lines to the pipes under the sink, rather than a separate type of connector hooked to the toilet tank. The supplied hardware (including plumber's tape) assures drip-free connections. Adjustable slots at the back of the device, and the relative thinness of the rear bracket assures a proper fit without adversely affecting the level of the toilet seat. For my inatallation, the under-sink cabinet is a bit closer to the bowl than standard. Thus, the device had to be placed at a slignt angle (as shown in the photos).Despite this smaall drawback, the bidet works reliably and well. Temperature adjustment is also very satisfactory.CONS: Other than my criticism over the clarity of the illustration in the Owner's Manual, my main peeve is that I have not been able to register my product. The site only accepts U.S. addresses (two-letter states), so Canadians cannot register their purchase. Even when I phoned the company, I could get no assurance or confirmation that I have my purchase registered and covered under warranty with the manufacturer. For this very important reason, and also for the aforementioned lack of clarity in the user manual, I am allocating three stars.Despite this I do recommend this as a purchase to consider. 2 Bad Design Decisions
It is a great concept that provides greatly improved cleanliness and reduced toilet paper use (impact on environment). Unfortunately, at least two very bad design decisions were made for this product: (1) the water fittings are not standard in North America and (2) the cold water connector is a brass ballcock connector to be attached at the toilet tank.(1) this design provides T adapters without valves for both hot and cold water which makes it very inconvenient if any plumbing adjustment is required - e.g. hose replacement, leak checking etc. T stop valves for 3/8" or 1/4" tube are very common in North America, but cannot be used with this unit which is probably M12X1.0 which I have so far failed to source anywhere. The provided hoses are almost 5/16" tube, but the thread pitch is slightly off. I have managed to make a leak tight connection by drilling out a 5/16" tube to 1/8" NPT high pressure fitting, adapting a thick rubber washer and carefully attaching to the slightly mismatched thread pitch and connecting to a 1/8" NPT to 1/4" tube fitting that accepts standard 1/4" tube hoses etc.. No leaks so far, but way too much work.(2) The cold water fitting provided is intended to be attached at the toilet tank 7/8" ballcock. Most new toilets have plastic fittings at the tank 7/8" ballcock and it is easy to find hose attachments also made of plastic in North America. Toilets are often located in tight spaces making it impossible to see this attachment location, so the connection must be made by "feel". This is not a problem with a plastic on plastic thread, but the provided fitting is made of brass so making this attachment by feel makes it very easy to strip the plastic thread of the ballcock valve. If this happens, it may require replacement of the toilet ballcock mechanism which is very troublesome and expensive. The solution is to provide the cold water attachment with standard 3/8" tube tee to be connected at the water source valve end rather than at the toilet tank end. This is the fitting Brondell provided for the hot water connection, though valveless. This unit adds about 1 cm to the height of the seat at the attachment point. For my toilet (American Standard Tofino) this required 1 cm longer seat bolts. Because the back of the seat is raised by 1 cm, it is possible that the front of the seat will not touch the toilet rim which could provide extra stress to the seat attachment. Fortunately, this was not a problem in my case.I have this installed and am happy with its function so far, but it is not well designed for North America.

Take the tank off
Plan on taking the tank off your toilet or you risk stripping the flush control valve + it is really awkward otherwise. The hot water feature is of questionable necessity - by the time the warm water travels to the bidet the "victim " is usually finished. Also plan on buying more than one otherwise everyone wants to use the same bathroom. If you are toilet training little kids you run the risk of them discovering the "pool" has a fountain (A separate shutoff valve may be a good idea).First time users are good entertainment.

Excellent Value
This unit was purchased as a replacement for my current bidet. It was much easier to install than my previous one, but the one feature that sold me on the unit was the brass valves. This bidet is one quarter the price I paid for my last one and is better made. The reason I had to replace my current one was that the valve wouldn't shut off the water and was non serviceable. The only caution I would make is that the cold water connection is to the bottom of the tank filler which on my toilet was plastic. While I was careful during the install, I caused a leak by loosening the tank filler by accident, and I was afraid to over tighten again because it is plastic. I would have preferred to see the cold water connection at the tank shutoff instead. (This is where my last bidet cold water supply was connected.)

Absolute must have in your bathroom (wake up north america the future is here)
Where have you been all my life (Oh North America wake up) heck if you want a true clean use this and paper :)I chose this one because of the copper parts inside. I have had it for a few months now absolutely love it (if ever there be an issue I will update this review)Great budget Bidet, would have been even greater if it had a lever for the nozzle but it's not needed as it is adjustable (just not as convenient) your mileage will vary based on your own water pressure and temperature.Fast easy install (Took longer to find all the tools etc..)I would definitely purchase again (just glad that, hopefully, I won't have too...)If I ever replace it (it will only be with one of the fancier expensive versions, but I doubt I will need to).
