Water Softener Repair Resin Restorer and Cleaner

FIVE STARS. My water softener media was SHOT. We couldn't even keep up with the calcium deposits on the dishes coming out of our dishwasher. It was horrible. I was just about to buy a new bag of media when I saw this on amazon for $15 and tried it just for the heck of it. The directions were super easy. Basically you dump it in your brine tank and do a couple of regen cycles back-to-back. After it was done, I could see some really yucky rust-colored deposits on some salt pellets near the bottom of the brine pit. That was a big sign that it worked its magic. But now a week later, our dishes are actually coming out clean, and that's the proof. I'll be buying another bottle really soon for ongoing maintenance.

After moving into a house, i had no idea how long its been since the water softener has been cleaned. Living in the Las Vegas area the water here is very hard. The water coming form the softener was not that bad but i still wanted to clean it. Dumped the full amount in the brine tank and did the regen twice. Did not noticed much of a difference but my children said they did. At least i know my beads are all clean now.

I used this produce about 10 days ago and thus far I am exceedingly happy with this product's performance. My Rainsoft water softener was having some issues, it is an older unit purchased back in 2003, and I was afraid it needed to be replaced. However, before shelling out the money for a new softener I decided to try this Resin Restorer, and it did a wonderful job; my water is now noticeably softer after treatment. I even had to turn the temperature down about 5 degrees on my water heater because the softener is working so much better! I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking to improve their softener performance, especially to those who think they may need to buy a new softener/resin.

This product might be effective if your resin bed isn't totally shot but in my case, it did nothing. After trying this twice then running the regeneration cycle numerous times, we had no improvement in "softness". After completely changing the resin, we once again have soft water. (The old resin was a grey color).Even though it didn't work for me, I'd still recommend it as an easy and relatively inexpensive first step because changing the resin is relatively expensive and a lot of work. ($100 and about 2 hours)

This stuff is the bomb. Mechanical skills to use are minimal.

It seems to be working. Our softener is around 15 yrs. old and still going strong.
