Good mechanical backup for electronic lock
I purchased this to retrofit a basic model SecuRam electronic lock in order to have a keyless mechanical backup yet retain the convenience of an electronic lock - best of both approaches in one.The 2 locks were interchangeable except for the 2 holes for mounting the spring-pin support plate (the old lock was horizontally in-line, the new one was staggered) ... simple matter to drill a new mounting hole. SecuRam advised that I might need to do that before I purchased. The YouTube video instructions are a big help. The first mechanical unlock using the factory default code was finicky but Kingman Security walked me through that (great customer support!).Once installed the lock and dial pad work great and seems to be of superb quality. I like the design for engagement of the mechanical dial - simply extend up a top baseplate piece to expose the dial numbers. My only issue is that the numbers are difficult for me to see, even with the backup LED light shining on them - the height of the black band upon which the numbers are etched is not quite tall enough (some numbers get the top or bottom cut off). Still, I can manage just fine, especially as a backup.Expensive but I am very pleased with the purchase - another example of "you get what you pay for." Great job SecuRam, thank you Kingman Security Group.

The first lock had a warped dial, but a quick call to SecuRam had a replacement on the way.
Once I got the replacement part installation and use was and continues to be flawless. The ability to use a combination in case you lose power is very cool, but it is no easy task to open the vault with the combination. When using the combination you have a special way to 'store' (?) the dial after you input the combination, and that takes some getting used to. I am not a fan of this process, and think they would be better served it if functioned like any other dial combination. Change is harder when you're older, so I'm not going to put this entirely on SecuRam, and write it off as a process I have to adapt to.

If you want to see your guns again, do not put this on your safe!
When I decided to to replace my S&G combo lock on my Liberty Safe I paid a premium to get a Liberty branded version of this lock because of all the features Securam promised. As soon as I got it things started going wrong. The mechanical code backup never worked, out of the box it was bricked. I never got it to unlock with the code wheel let alone reset the code. Next, I noticed the battery drained VERY fast, about one per month and, yes, they were recommended brand name batteries. After about a year, possibly a little more, the solenoid started failing. This required entering the code several times until it would finally turn the lock. Then the control unit start having issues. First the LED light burned out. Then it started to forget my code. Finally I decided it was time to give up on the lock and open my safe and take this half-baked garbage out, but it saw me coming. The control unit gave out completely. It won't recognize any codes, not even reset. My guns are now stuck in the safe because of this giant wad of crap.As for Securam, WORST. CUSTOMER SERVICE. EVER. I've called them repeatedly and when they do answer the phone, which is not often, the same unsympathetic, bored sounding guy answers and offers unhelpful suggestions like a IT call center operator. They never once addressed the issues I called about. This lock WILL fail you when you need it most. Do not trust your life to it.

Listing is wrong
It is a good concept to have a mechanical backup to the electronic keypad, even if it is a bit pricey. Contrary to the description there is no top dial light. Reading those numbers can be tough without good room light or a flashlight. Installation was a little complex but not too bad. Be aware this seller does ship signature delivery required without telling you. It was a surprise for me as there was no notice beforehand. Signature deliveries are a PITA for me when I don't know they are coming.

Grate product and even better customer service
Grate product even better customer care. He understood safes and the product very well. Was having problems with my safe wasn’t the locks fault but was able to tell me what it was and how to fix it over the phone. I might buy another lock for my other safe just because of how ease it was to install this lock

What will you do when an EMP takes out your digital lock. This solves the issue.

A must have!
The media could not be loaded. The best of both world’s, the ease of an electronic lock and the reliability of a mechanical lock. Unfortunately this lock no longer comes with a dial light, that’s unfortunate because the dial gauge is very thin and the pointer is almost translucent against the gold background. However with some red paint I highlighted the pointer and made a line so it’s easier to see.
