Amazon Basics Adjustable Exercise Weight Bench

I must say it was a little confusing to assemble, but once you kinda get it figured out, it goes together well, but dont expect anyone older or not good at putting things together to figure it out. Its OK on the sturdiness, the pads feel kinda cheap, but it does get the job done and the price is right. Overall, I would have spent a little more on something a little bit nicer, but if on a budget, this is perfect.

It wouldn't survive use in a gym, but for my home gym it's working great. With me, and a couple of one hundred pound dumbbells it seems sturdy. It's a little wobblier than the benches at a good gym, but much better than most home gym equipment I've seen. Assembly was straightforward and all components were in the box.

Not nearly the type of quality you'll get at your local gym, but those benches go for over $300. For the price, I'm glad I bought this one. It Does it's job pretty well. (It's only for use during the quarantine, until I can go back to the Gym.)Now, If you're serious about having a home gym, as opposed to joining a real Gym, then I would definitely not purchase this, but rather invest in something more high-quality.(Also, Putting it together was kind of a hassle.)

The box had a small puncture in it but despite loose packaging (components were wrapped in foam sheet), nothing was scratched or otherwise damaged. The only tool not supplied but needed to hold each hex nut was a 17mm combination wrench. A hex wrench was supplied for the screws. The assembly manual was very good overall. I would've separated some of the exploded view steps to make sequential steps easier to figure out. It looks like two different length screws as depicted in the instructions were combined into one length. Essentially, there were two screw lengths, whereas three were shown in the manual. I could not include a washer for one of the nuts, due to lack of available threads on the screw. Overall, the assembly took me 40 minutes using a non-rushed approach. The bench is certainly adequate, structurally and I expect it to last many years.

The product came well-packaged and in perfect condition. It was as described. It was easy to assemble (one-person job). It's built for home usage, so much lighter, less sturdy than what one encounters at a gym, but fine for home use. Good value.

The bench arrived and it was missing a part. Part #5 which appears to be very important bracing piece. The screws also did not align with the back of the base. Then it cost me $11.97 to send back.

I've been going to the gym for years and use a lot of free weights. Over the years I found it annoying going to the gym just to do my dumbbell program. I have the dumbbells but not the bench. For the last few years I've been looking for a budget friendly bench that was sturdy and adjustable.The ones I've tested and looked at in the past weren't made well or just felt like it couldn't handle my weight. When I came across the AmazonBasics Adjustable Bench I decided to give it try. From the pictures it looks like it did everything I needed and can hold my weight.Just as the other reviewers mentioned, there is some assembly required. Actually there are lot of parts to install and the diagram instructions add to many sub steps to each step and it makes it confusing. It takes a little common sense to put together. Also you will need a socket wrench or an adjustable wrench (Crescent Wrench) to hold the nuts tight as you tighten down the bolts with the supplied L-Shapped allen wrench. You might want to have a set of allen wrenches available. I broke the supplied one in half while tightening the bolts down. Make sure to tighten everything down. If one or two nuts/bolts are loose the bench isn't sturdy.As to the bench itself, its a basic bench that is designed for the average person and is great for beginners. However, if you are more advanced and use heavy dumbbells/barbells or a large person, the bench may be to small for you. I'm 5'11 and I feel this bench will work for now. I feel that if I was any taller or wider, it may not work.The bench goes from horizontal to straight back with 4 adjustable positions. Its not advertised but you can also take the adjustable back and lay it back until it creates a decline bench. Its not very comfortable and the edge of the bench that hangs over where the back of the knees go isn't very sturdy and sinks in. Unlike many professional benches that you can do this works, I really wouldn't recommend it with this unit.This bench is not a foldable design. But its light weight and has wheels on one end so you can move it around the room to where you need it. I would suggest putting a mat under it if the bench is used on a slick surface. It may slide.Do not compare this bench to premium benches or commercial benches. This one can't compete, Its not designed to be. Its designed for the average user and is perfect to add to the causal user's home gym. I'm still testing the bench out and so far I like and will continue to use.It gets four stars because of the instructions being confusing. It took me about an hour while watching TV to put it together. Now that I know to put it together I can do it in about 30 minutes.If you are looking for a budget friendly well built bench, then this is the bench for you.

It seems well made and feels sturdy, reasonably easy to assemble. Good value.
