Vive Stand Assist - Mobility Standing Aid Rail for Couch, Chair

An excellent product. This standing aid works perfectly. It has helped me in my recovery and allows me to stand from the loveseat easily it is the perfect height and is incredibly sturdy. I recommend this for anyone recovering from surgery or needing aid in standing from a couch or chair.

Easy to put together. Really helped my mom to get off the couch. So simple but totally works.

I bought this to help my spouse, who has hip problems, get up from the sofa. When it arrived, I dutifully reviewed the directions and counted the parts to make sure they were all there and was missing two. I returned the original package and ordered a replacement, which was delivered in a few days. To my surprise, it also seemed to be missing two pieces, which seemed unlikely. It turns out that despite the directions showing two pieces as separate - and instructs you to put them together - they’re shipped assembled. It seems like this would be easy to fix, either ship the number of separate pieces or change the directions. After the mystery was solved, it went together easily and installs just as easily. I put it under the cushion, which is the logical way to do it and what most people would do. But as other reviewers have noted, that makes the arms a little shorter (maybe an inch or two lower than a normal arm height) than ideal. The connections wiggle a bit, but the product seems stable enough. All in all, good and I’m happy I tried it but not great.

Easy to assemble, I got this for my moms lift chair to give extra bracing in getting up. Her chair cushions don't lift up so we placed it on the seat cushion and shoved the back end under the back cushion, works just fine. It does give her more stability in getting up, It adjusts in width to fit a chair or couch cushion, simple metal tube construction, lightweight and it does add a good level of safety in providing stability.

Loved it until one handlebar broke. My husband was pretty good at breaking things. To clarify, he'd sometimes put a lot of pressure on things that I wouldn't have put so much pressure on. Sometimes it was hard to know if they broke because he was just a big guy and his first reaction if something seemed stuck was to push harder, vs. just backing off and trying to figure out what is causing the problem -- which would be my first reaction to a stuck thing. So we had a a broken dishwasher handle, a broken chair handle, broken recliner leg rests, and then this thing. Maybe some of those items weren't made very well, but I never had so many things break when I was single. So, I think the breakage could have been partly his fault. BUT ... this thing is designed to help people with mobility issues. It really shouldn't have broken, even with Mr. Clumsy using it. That's why I'm only giving it 3 stars. We had gotten good use out of it for maybe 4 months, though, before it broke. So I didn't try to contact the manufacturer or anything. And during those 4 months or so, Mr. Clumsy loved it! It did make it much easier for him to get up from the couch.

This has proved to be a valuable purchase as it helps me with getting up from my sunken cushion.

I didn't like it. It works for what it's intended to do (help you out of the seat), but it's wobbly and doesn't make the person using it feel secure. I even tightened the screws as far as they would go. I threw it out, l love my family too much to risk their safety.

Sturdy, easy to install, helpful for seniors to get out of a couch. I bought this for my 84 year old father who has recently needed to use a walker for stability. He wasn’t able to sit on the couch because there wasn’t anything to help him leverage up to standing. He put this on the couch and can now safely sit and stand without help. We did have to put a sturdy cushion on the couch, like the kind you might put on a stool or chair, but overall this product has met expectations.

Loved this. I bought it for a relative whose degenerative health conditions means he now struggles to stand up from the sofa. Easy to put together, cheap, looks neat, natural and dignified when in place, is safe, and most important - it works! It has given back my relative independence in sitting downing and standing up, and an extra lease of life to the sofa - expensive and complicated to replace. It has bought us time, assisted in quality of life and dignity to a fiercely independent person. Sometimes it is the small things in life....heartily recommend and my gratitude and thanks to the makers / sellers.

I am so glad I bought this. It has made getting up so much easier!! Easier on my knees and will help me gain strength. Update. After over 4 years, this is still the best and most helpful aid I have purchased. By being able to get up easier, it helped improve strength in arms and legs. Relieved the stress of struggling! It is fairly easy to switch over from sofa to the bed. It works with my bed, on mornings when I have stiff knees, like now (in the fall) Still really glad I bought it. Still sturdy, like new.
