insane
I don't know why I thought that this product was a dud and bought it anyway but it's so cool. I bought it for a DIY project and it's the coolest thing. I know it's in the name "instant" but I didn't think it was true LOL HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Looks like real snow, feels sort of like it
Ok, nothing wrong with the product, it is what it is. A powder that when wet, quickly absorbs water and expands into wet snow-like fluffy water soaked flakes. Get it, play with it, throw it away. Caution, it is kind of messy to clean up, and the instructions to dehydrate the stuff and re-use it, forget that part, you won't want to do that. So, funny story. Not knowing how messy this stuff could be, and living in Phoenix AZ, thought it would be cool to make it look like it snowed outside Christimas morning. Found a site selling similar stuff in bulk, so ordered enought to make 75 Gallons of snow. It came in 3 quart-sized pouches. I got up early before the kids and with a 5-gallon bucket started mixing up the stuff 3-4 gallons at a time. I had to mix the concoction with a stick to get it to all absorb evenly.I took the now 25 Lb bucket of "snow" and dumped it around the edges of the patio, in the planters, on the edge of the trampoline, around the walkway steps, you get the idea.Wow! It did look like it snowed when they looked out the window, SUCCESS!!! And 5-10 minutes of excitement/joy of having a white christmas in PHX.After the presents were open, breakfast had, now it's time to play outside. WHAT A MESS!!!That stuff sticks really well to EVERYTHING, bike tires, shoes, and it brings anything it touches with it, gravel, sticks, rocks, dirt, etc, etc, etc.I grabbed a shovel and scraped as much as I could into one pile, our of the way, hoping the stuff would just biodegrade and go away, but it rained a day or two later, washing the stuff from its nice pile to where ever it wanted to go. Remember the movie BLOB? Another few days later I grab the wheel barrow and shovel and rake and go after this stuff once and for all.Anyway, hindsight, I wouldn't do that again LOL.

This is the best snow decoration ever!!!
The media could not be loaded. I'm completely obsessed with this product!! I wanted to have the most classic and realistic looking snow decoration for my store because we have a Winter Wonderland theme for the holidays. But all of the faux materials out there just were not going to cut it, they're so obviously fake. So I thought I would take a chance with this since it was something different that I had never seen or worked with in person before and I really didn't know what to expect, but I could not have found anything better than this! It's blowing everyone's mind and we have to keep a cup of it available to let people touch and interact with because they can't resist trying to feel it, especially once they touch it and find out that it actually feels cold!!! After that people are just in complete shock and amazed by it and a lot of people actually think that it's the real deal! It looks gorgeous, people love it and I could not be happier the result of this product. I'll definitely be purchasing more of this to use to decorate my house this year too, and I'll be recommending it to my company for our future holiday decor plans. Love, love, love!We took a video of how the product grows when you add the water to it. The glitter in the snow is a glitter confetti we added on top of our decor, so this product does not glitter, it looks like pure white snow!

Fun!!! Fun but...
Okay, this makes a TON (well, maybe not literally) of "fake" snow.It feels like moist diaper filling. I personally don't like the way it feels, but my 2 daughters LOVE IT!!!You can't make snowballs!!! ~ it's just light and fluffy bits of "I don't know what" ~ it looks like snow, but doesn't feel like snow. Now, what do you do after you made snow? Throw it away. You can't save it. Supposedly, it will dry out and you can reuse. How long that takes, I have no idea ~ we left this in a bowl for over 2 weeks and it was still moist diaper filling. So, I don't think it can be re-used.Oh, there is a "TRICK" to making it ~ The faster you add the water, the better it seems to work. Don't pour the water slow. Use the correct measurements that are suggested. We like putting the "Powder" in a tall glass (see through so you can clearly watch it expand) and put the glass inside a bowl to catch the overflow ~ it WILL overflow. Then, while everybody watches, quickly pour the suggested amount of water into the glass. It takes a moment, not long, but long enough that you think ~ Is it going to work? and then BOOM ~ it does. It just expands and expands and expands, overflowing the glass and filling the bowl ~ how much depends upon how much "Powder & water" you use. O ~ and more water is NOT better. All in all, EVERYONE who has played with this at my home, LOVED it! We made batches and batches and batches of this stuff. But as a mom who had to "clean up" afterwards, I hated it. (but I did love making it. So I definitely see the appeal). I do suggest buying it and just "sucking it up" (not literally ~ I think this would kill a vacuum) when it's time to clean...

Clean up is rough
I got this for my preschool class and it was easy to set up in my sensory table, and the kids had a blast with it. One thing I didn’t realize was how difficult it would be to clean up. I had my students wash their hands but the snow that came off their hands just gelled up in the sink because it all kept absorbing water, so it just sat there and I had to scoop it out. Today I had them rinse their hands in a bowl first and then wash, and this was the result of pouring the bowl out into a paper towel I’d put in the drain - sooo much gelled up snow just from their little hands that would have been awful going down the drain. I had 5 or 6 of these paper towels full to throw away. It’s like the inside of a diaper when it gets too wet and leaks. I’ll be sure to use it sparingly from now on.
