Hello there! I bought this power adapter back in February 2026 and have been using it every day since then. It powers my VoIP adapter and sometimes my MSX computer console without any problems at all. It gives the exact 12v 2amp power output I needed and has been very reliable. The extra long 8 foot power cord cable is also really useful because it gives more flexibility on where to place devices. For the price, this is a great value and it simply works.

Bought this to replace the cord for my indoor Vivint Camera. Our cat (yes a cat) shredded the original and I was afraid I would have to pay $$$ for them to replace. Plugged in and rebooted my system. The camera was back, working within 5 minutes.

Bought this to replace a faulty 1A power supply that came with a string of LED lamps. It has worked since winter of 2020 but it has become hinky over the last two or three days causing the LED's to blink for several minutes before coming solidly on. Suspect an intermittent open or a failing diode – in the rectifier circuit attributable to poor quaility components or shoddy workmanship. Can't say exactly as the unit is sealed. But for $8.xx, I guess one shouldn't expect a lot of quality nor quality control. Sigh. Update: 05032022. It has died completely. Hoping the second replacement has been made in the USA to a hight quality control standard. A tangential thought regarding made in China electronic components and gadgets: It is common, if not universal practice when soliciting bids to award such bids to the lowest bidder. After reading Mark Greaney's (Tom Clancy's appointed successor) Threat Vector, I hope our national defense contractors aren't using made in China components. An equipment failure during a national threat situation would seriously compromise our national defense. On the other hand, in a Chinese offensive and they're using the same components in their fighter jets, bombers or whatever such a component snafu during a mission critical operation would doom that particular weapon's effectiveness. Just a thought. Update: 10/27/2023 - Unit started to die two days ago. It's been 3 years, which i suppose is okay for a Made in China item– whatever happend to UL ratings?. Anyway, it has been powering a 10' LED strip light which has been 'ON' every day for the past three years, so perhaps I shouldn't be so critical. OTH I have a 20 year old Toyota that with regular maintenance, still runs like it did when it came off the factory floor.

Item as advertised, delivered promptly. Fit snugly and well and ran my Novation 49SL MKIII perfectly. It is hard to find the tech specs for the barrel size for Novation 49SL MKIII online, I spent over an hour and really wasn't certain. Novation support confirmed my suspicion. A 5.5 x 2.1 barrel is definitely right for this unit. This cost less than 1/4 of ordering the OEM power supply shipped from England to the States. This aftermarket part replaces Novation Part Number: PSUE001038 and actually has greater power capacity which is fine, the electronics draw what they draw, its not "sending to much power" from the transformer. Also confirmed that with Novation.

Two weeks ago my TiVo was rebooting over and over, I did the Kick start 53 code and it worked. Then the last week I found it blinking green on the left and then quickly flashing the red and blue lights on the right and back to green. Searching online I found this was either a bad hard drive or power adapter. This adapter felt sufficiently snug when I plugged it in and the TiVo started right up like normal. The only issue I ran into is the orientation of the prongs on side that plugs into the 110v power source. The R3413 had prongs rotated 90° from a typical plug and was narrow enough so it could plug into a power strip without needing additional space. On this plug like most wall warts, they can not fit on a power strip next to other plugs. I had to use an extension cord to give it the room it needed. Update: 3 1/2 years later and a couple browns outs yesterday appears to have killed this adapter. I Just ordered two more to make sure I'm never without the adapter.

Lights up a room

10 months into using this product and my Tivo unit would randomly disconnect and/or throw error codes. I thought it was an internal issue with the Tivo itself, so I would manually reboot everything by unplugging & replugging the power cord from the back of the box. Fast forward to current day (18 months after purchase) and my Tivo lights were flashing like crazy. I read online that this is due to a faulty power supply, so I purchased a new one; and while unplugging this one from the wall I LITERALLY BURNED MY HAND!! The adapter was RED HOT and a dime sized bubble had formed (see attached photos) from where the unit was essentially burning up from the inside!! I'm EXTREMELY grateful that I caught this in time, as I honestly believe that another day or two and this may have resulted in an electrical fire! I wouldn't use this product again even if it was given to me for free!! There should be large printed warning (right under the "Made In China" stamp) that reads : CAUTION : FIRE HAZZARD!! Update : Right after writing the above review, I decided to crack the casing off to see what was burning up inside. (It's worth noting that 5min after being unplugged from the outlet, the blue LED light remained lit 😬). Upon opening the unit up I immediately noticed a foul odor! Aside from the actual burning that was taking place, there was also some sort of acidic residue leaking out!! (see photo) Again, I can't stress enough not to put yourself & home at risk with this product! The temptingly low price point is simply not worth the catastrophic effects it can potentially cause.

Used it with a Yamaha DX100 so I didn't have to use batteries - worked well enough(unlike the synth) so I'd recommend it. Nice long chord, too :)

It can power up to 4 cameras, but all of these charger are short lived. They typically work a couple of years.
