Like others have said - WOW!
So I did not expect this book to have the level of scholarship it has. The authors make sure to cross reference and cite numerous* outside sources throughout (Disclosure: I’m only half way through so far), but this book has large volumes of pertinent , and credible, information for any student of the occult and/or alchemy. The authors lay a sizable foundation before delving into their thesis(es), and analyzing Fulcanelli’s Mystery of the Cathedrals. Also a large background in ancient Egyptian schools of hermeticism and Jewish Kabbalah. Readers can use this book as a resource to study the knights Templar and alchemy; it is truly eye opening. Sad that today’s schools of the physical “sciences” suppress REAL information on our reality, which I believe is what this book presents us with. Highly recommend this hidden gem — I only discovered it coincidentally while researching Fulcanelli.

Fun read
Whether or not one will enjoy this book I guess will depend upon one's expectations going into it. For me, my primary interest lies in understanding how people's belief in the occult has influenced the course of the history of western civilization. From that perspective, "Mysteries of the Great Cross of Hendaye" provides a good overview of the salient threads of hermetic occultism passed down since Pharaonic Egypt. I thought the book was a fun read and thought provoking even for one with a healthy skepticism of alchemical/astrological traditions. These belief systems have never gone away, popular interest in them waxes and wanes and they can have potent influences on world events. There was a popular resurgence of interest in the esoteric in the late nineteenth century Europe which gained traction in the popular imagination and helped to shape the world view and philosophy of Nazism. There was another resurgence of esotericism in the United States in the sixties, which has morphed and merged into New Age philosophies and millenarianism current today. It's an interesting subject.Try as they might, neither traditional western religion nor science have ever completely succeeded in "poo pooing" or suppressing the esoteric into the oblivion they feel it deserves. It keeps popping up, keeps shaping people's beliefs, keeps on influencing their behaviors. It seems to be human nature to crave a holistic interpretation of reality. The reductionist, scientific method requiring, perhaps, a bit too much intellectual discipline.

Finally, bringing some actual truth and wisdom to the masses!!
Jay Weidner is definitely one of the greatest writers/researchers/producers/etc. shedding some light on the topic of the truth behind alchemy and many other mystical teachings of our time!! Haven't actually had time to read it yet but I am very familiar with his top notch research and have watched several interviews of him about his works of wisdom. If you like this sort of thing, you should definitely check out the numerous gaia.com programs of which he's heavily involved with.

Well done!!
Very nice view into esoteric occult mysteries. The strength of this book is the way Mr. Weidner & Mr. Bridges explain history, mythology, alchemy, qabalah, astronomy, astrology & tarot cards into the meaning of symbols on the Cross of Hendaye. If you have no background for the above subjects, the authors provide adequate explanations for you to understand their way of thinking. If you are closed minded, unwilling to stretch boundries in accepted history & science, you will have an under-appreciation for this book. If you have an open mind to a different view, especiality with history, you will appreciate the author's thought processes. Even someone with a substantial formal education will understand a need to look into these esoteric studies that are not formally taught. I thank the authors for this very informative book.

WOW
I've read many books regarding the "2012 dilemma," but none were as researched as this one. Weidner and Bridges bring alchemy and the great mysteries to the average reader. There are no hidden meanings here folks, just plain see it as it is reading.Hats off to these authors! Even they have left the questions at the end unanswered, leaving the reader to come to their own conclusions. They have given us all the clues and what they and others have interpreted from them and left the reader to believe or not.I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in the "end times," the mysteries surrounding Fulcanelli, and alchemy!

Excelent background discossion of Alchemy and Templar history.
Most of the book is background information which is critical for understanding their conclusions. And this is the best introduction to and explanation of Alchemy and medieval political history that I have read.Whatever you think of the author's thesis, the background material was well worth the effort to read the book.
