Really didn't expect it would be that good.
Fantastic, especially for bass-rich music.Took me a couple of days to get used to the "Closed phones" sound type, very obvious with these. My Sennheiser HD-25 sounds more neutral, but the NAD is vastly superior in my view for hi-fi use: very spacious sound, incredibly detailed bass, which does not seem constrained even when extremely low- frequency. The impact and "oomph" is fully rendered with ease. In fact after getting used to it, I just can't go back to the HD-25 for listening to music (the HD-25 still has a much tighter sound, which works better when practicing an intrument or do some recording).Compared to the expensive fashion-statement headphones that are popular at the moment, this is a huge bargain. I tried stuff that cost almost twice the price and that are not even close in terms of sound quality.

Amazing Headphones!!
Sound is obviously a personal preference. Some like the sound of a set of bass heavy beats headphones for what they listen to. Some like really high end headphones with neutral sound to pick out details they never heard before. I’d suggest these NAD HP 50’s strike a balance between the two. I have several headphones/IEMs including old monster beats tour IEMs - Akg 702’s & Shure SE 535’s - the latter two fairly neutral- great detail, need amplifiers and for my ears need the EQ boosting for bass response (SpotEQ great for that if you use Spotify -better than the EQ in the app). I recently purchased a FiiO BTR1 which is a great Bluetooth amp - v small. Plugged straight into the FiiO these HP50’s sound amazing - (Spotify on Extreme setting). Bass is more present than in my Shure and Akg’s - only really bass light music needs the EQ adjusting. But these still sound like high end headphones with lovely mids (what you usually get from expensive headphones) and detail. The room feel tech that NAD developed for me sounds great - especially on drum sounds which have a slightly live sound to them.I’m sure for true pure audiophiles these may be bass heavy I think but for me these are the best of both worlds and make everything you put through them sound great. Essential purchase

I think HP50 is best for classical music
Quality of soundHigh definition closed headphone. very pure sound.I think HP50 is best for classical music. Also in rock music HP50 does very good perfomanceConvenienceAbout a week when I put it on my head, It's tight and some pain at temporal area (Because I wear glasses)After about a week, No pain. But not very comfordable to wear long time.If Nad make another model with focusing to about convenience, that headphone will be a REFERENCE.In conculusionHP50 is very good headphone. If you find a closed headphone at middle price, I'll recommend HP50

Alright but sound a little "wooly" for my liking.

Excellent headphones. Comfy, and the lead can be plugged into either earpiece.
I ordered the white ones, and red ones turned up - however, the sticker on the outside of the box said "white", so the blame lies with the people in the factory who originally packed them, not the supplier. The red ones actually look really nice - it's a deep-ish red, in not-cheap plastic, if that makes sense.I collect headphones, and have around 30 pairs. Don't judge me.These are some of the best I've bought. They have something called "RoomFeel" technology to give a wider soundstage compared to normal closed-back headphones, which works incredibly well. If you want the isolation of closed-back headphones, but with an open-backed sound, then these headphones are the ones to go for. They are very comfy. I read some reviews that complained about the shape of the headband pressing on their heads in weird ways - I had no such problem - I think the widening of the headband actually makes them more comfortable. One outstanding feature that I haven't seen on any other headphones (though I'm sure there will be others out there) is that the cable can be plugged into either earpiece. It's a small detail, but can make quite a difference if you're doing some activity where the cable can get in the way if on one side or the other. The only (very trivial) downside, and is the price to pay for closed-back headphones, is that now the weather is getting nicer, your ears can get rather warm and sweaty. But as I said, that is a common bugbear with closed-back headphones.I can't recommend these headphones enough.
