Rubies Young Heroes Child's Fire Fighter Costume, Toddler

We got this for our son when he was 5. He is now 9 and still this costume is in fair condition. He has worn it for 4 years for Halloween and played outside in it. It is still in not to bad a shape for what it has gone through.I am shocked that he is still able to wear this. I thought he would out grow it fast. The pants and suspenders are nice. We can adjust them each year and they still fit him. The jacket was a bit large, but he is growing into it nicely now. We got his hat and tools at Wal*Mart in the boys costume section years ago. Not sure if they still have them now. They work well with this costume.The only thing I can complain about is the yellow strips. They frayed really bad and started to come apart. That is the only complaint I have. I am looking into sewing new ones on this year with a better fabric. So if you do get this, look into using some fray glue or sew new ones on. The sewing is all still intact. I can not see one hole anywhere or any sewing that has come apart. The zipper still works and so do the front clips. It said to hand wash. This is the first year I washed it in my front loader on delicate. It is still all together (even the yellow strips but they frayed more, which I knew was going to happen). All stains have come out.I can not complain much about a costume that has lasted for 4 years. Especially after the first one that was made of cheap vinyl and lasted the one night. I did give this 5 stars due to how long it lasted and the fact that the yellow strips are all still on. We will see... maybe next year it will still fit and he will still want to be a fireman.

I bought this costume for my son to wear on halloween but he couldn't wait and ended up wearing it a lot before then. It is very durable and apparently somewhat stain resistance! Everyone commented on the costume and how nice it is and on halloween night, one house was so impressed that they invited us in and he got to try on a real fireman hat and jacket much larger and heavier!).I should mention that the hat that came with the outfit is a peice of junk. We got a great hat from "Halloween Spirit" store, but all in all the outfit itself is awesome.

I really liked this costume! It did run long on the pants so I folded them up. It's extremely thin and light was cold so I was able put long pants and shirt on under was fine. Very cute would recommend.

My only complaint is that the jacket is a size group smaller than the pants. I ordered the medium which is suppose to be a 5-6. My son actually wears a 4-5. The pants are a cuff size too long and the Jacket is almost too small. Also, the hat is a piece of foam. It will not last and has to be shaped for your child's head in advance. I put it on a ball and left it for a couple days prior to wearing it.The The realistic look is great. My son's dad is a firefighter and he was surprised at how much it actually looks like his uniform. The quality of the material is better than you would find in a regular retail store Halloween isle but it will not withstand regular use. I would be careful washing it and probably air dry to preserve the quality of it if you want to use if for more than one Halloween or pass down to another child. My son loves it and I had to hide it to keep him from trying to put it on.

We ordered this for Halloween costume and after reading reviews i was nervous.My son is about 45 lbs and average size for a 5,5 year oldWe ordered the medium and it was perfecr.Yes the fabric is cheap... You are not ordering a real fireman suit! Its a costume!! The hat was a foam/cardboard make up and it was perfect!!I ised a white market to write his name on the hat.He loves this costume!Yes pants are a smidge long but not THAT long..maybe an inch.. Ill hem them- easy fix!

This costume fit my almost 5 year old very well, however the stripes on the costume started unraveling immediately upon arrival. And not just one of the stripes - every single one. The material of the stripes is of very poor quality and the stitching is downright awful. Between trying this costume on prior to Halloween, wearing it on Halloween, and playing fireman a handful of times since, this costume is now just falling apart. He's very sad that his fireman costume is coming undone. For the twenty-some-odd dollars we paid for this, I expect more! And the hat is foam. Neither of my boys had any interest in it. The cheap plastic ones you get from a visit to a fire station are much better. It'd be much better if the makers of this costume would forget the flimsy useless hat and put more effort into making the costume last longer than a few weeks time.

It’s comfortable,true to sizing and super cute. Arrived on time for career day in only 2 days.

My great nephew was so pumped that he looked like a real fire fighter. The hat did not really do well in shipping and we did have to go out and purchase a different fireman's hat. That was the only drawback! The pants and jacket were great!

Very poor qualityThe stitching is fraying after 1 wear for a very short time.I have previously tried to return an inferior product with no success! It is easy to shop. However, it is impossible to return an inferior of defective item.
