3LB Electronic Component Grab Bag

Disclaimer: (Some items in the pictures were included in the ELEGOO Super starter kit, most were included in this product. I censored some of the ELEGOO parts.)As a self-teaching student in general electronics, this really helped me to see the wide variety of electronics out there. I kinda tested myself to see if I could identify every piece and sort them accordingly (I did pretty well with that).As for the product, everything looked to be great quality (although I haven’t tested everything). I received:So many Capacitors (as well as a large one I like)Small cpu fan100-240 V in - 5 V out power cableMany potentiometersA large variety of switches, LEDs, connectorsMultiple relaysMore capacitorsResistors(And so much more I know function but not the name of)Overall, the package shipped earlier than expected, was in great packaging, and was exactly what I was looking for! I will be buying this (as well as more storage boxes) again soon!

dislikes : the long wait in delivery of the packagelikes :plenty of them1. got a bunch of caps varying sizes in capacitance and voltage rating A. plenty of small nf & pf caps over 150 caps B. not as many larger caps though maybe 25 1a. tested all of them only found a small number that were defective2. 30 crystall oscillators of varying freq. 1a. tested an all appeared to be ok3. 35 ic chips of varying types and of uses 1a. at present no way to test these but working on test modules (have to make them 1st)4. 40 small transistors of varying types A. tested all of them however 1 type with a green dot on top (no id # on it) said unknown but showed on my test meter to be possible a zener but with no id # hard to say what the qualities of it are and there were 10 of these. B. voltage requlators / tyristors / general purpose type5. 70 power type transistors A. mosfets (npn type only) / triacs / darlington pairs (pnp & npn types) / power & switching / voltage requlators of varying types/dcto dc converters/ stereo power amp / rectifer types / & a horz deflec for color tv's. 1a. tested all of them with my test gear6. variable resistors of varying types and sizes from very small to regular size pots A. bunches and bunches of the small multi turn type B. only a small # of regular ones 1a. to many to test all of them (lol)7. button switches / slide switches / rocker types / dip switches8. button cell batteries9. oldermcomputer conections (VGA - printer-serial ports)10. 1 dnc connector11. several audio jacks12. small cpu fan13. vating types of led lights14. brand new 5 volt wall charger15. resistors varying types (fusible / 1/4 watt / ceramic types)16. one 24vac relay17. tons of headers to many to countOk you may ask why i took the time to list all this stuff well for the $22.00 i spent i beleive it was well worth the money spent and may in the near future order more of them. I have gotten grab bags in thepast from Radi Shack (called mystery bags) and wind up with basically a lot of crap that i didn't need or could use. believe it or not a lot of what was in this 3lb package i can actually use for circuits that i'd like to build. Wasn't sure about buying this, but took a chance. I was pleasantly surprised. A new gear motor (this was mostly the price of the grab bag), 5v adapter and lots of caps and some good pots. Odds and ends of all kinds. Got a few IC sockets and was hoping to get more. Mostly happy with the contents and worth the price. I'll do it again.

First off, this bag of goodies will probably earn you a visit from homeland security, ,y wife is convinced that between the vast amount of electronic parts I get delivered and this bag that we will be raided.Not going to lie,, this is a bag of scrap parts. Most of the capacitors, the leads were cut so short that they were almost worthless. Not to mention that most of them were scary and made you wonder WTH type of machine it came out of.You will find lots of very old computer components that are only interesting from a nostalgic point of view, but useless for any project I might make.Its very clear that these were scrap items that were tossed. The vast majority of the items were 100% useless and I could not even think of how to use them with out electrocuting myself. Heck, some parts I did not even want to go near, thats how scary some of them were.The bad, now the good.If you have a mind that has to find out what something is, this bag is for you.If you like to tinker and possibly get electrocuted or blow up some part of your body, this bags for you.If you want to see things that you never have and never will again and wish you would forget, this bags for you.Now, this is not to say that I did not find some cool things, things that I could use as well as things I can play with. I can also say that I might have got lucky, but I did get items that more then made up for the cost. 3 sensors, that I do have a practical use for where in the bag, fully board ready and fully within the range. These 3 items were far more then the price.I also found many variable resistors, one should have these and I am happy to have the wide range of them.There was also a nice bag of different types of LEDS that will be fun to play with.A few nice relays that were still useful.Some very nice parallel resisters, still in the bag, and very much useful.TONS of different value crystals.Did I mention stuff that will give me nightmares for the rest of my life?I also fond a fair amount of surface mount capacitors that were still in packaging.In then end, for me, I got value out of the bag. But you have to have some ability to laugh as some of the stuff is out there. I still have not completely finished digging into the bag, this is because I had to wash my hands, the parts have a smell, as well as dirt lots of dirt, so if you have a phobia about grim, DO NOT ORDER THIS BAG. It triggered OCD's that I was not even aware I had, it made my dogs leave the room whimpering.Now, just where did I leave that soldering iron.....
