not for the main couple
Honestly, Naduki Koujima's mangas follow a certain pattern that had me tired already... mainly, a stupid boy (or a very irritated one) and a guy who is stronger than he is and who is usually VERY intelligent too... and who usually forces (read: rapes) the stupid main character.and then the way she draws sex scenes kinda makes me feel like I'm reading the same thing over and over again.however, GPHS caught my attention. not because of the main storyline (wait, what main storyline?), but because of the secondary one: the student council. although Rin and Eichi pretty much fit the description above, something about THEIR storyline and their sturdy yet so weak relationship completely steals the scene, and I'm probably not the only one thinking this because there's a whole 4volume series of Great Place High School - Student Council... where their story is further told.so, bottom line, GPHS has a really sad plot, but the characters of the student council (who appear in both GPHS, AND GPHS -SC) make up for it.I will admit, however, that there are better titles out there, so, if you're looking for a present or something thrilling, this is probably not for you.

Meh, it's okay...
The pros: I like Koujima's style of drawing and I think it's really pretty. The cons: Unfortunately, being cute is really the only thing going for this manga. There really isn't much of a plot beyond the standard "uke cute boy goes to high school and meets seme cute boys." The most developed plot line (such as it is) is for two side characters who aren't even pictured on the front cover.I really hope that this is the first of a series and more stories are told of the characters. As a standalone manga, however, I can't recommend it because it completely lacks any depth. It IS pretty, though. Maybe an easy bathroom reader? LOL

Average
This story had me kinda confused in the beginning because each chapter is an individual comic strip with a little bit of action that comes together to make the whole story. But the main story is cute even though the only sexual content goes on between two student council reps and there are mentions of incest. Would recommend for a newbie or veteran.

Kinda Disappointed...
I LOVE Naduki Koujima, so when I saw this manga I had to snatch it up right away. Lo and behold...wait a minute, this doesn't seem like a manga....eh?! As another reviewer had mentioned, this book starts off like a comic strip - more or less something you would expect to see at the end of the book not the beggining. I admit, I checked to see if I was somehow reading it backwards, and it becomes somewhat akward flipping from comic strip to manga and back strip and then manga again.Setting format aside, I began to meet the cast of characters. We are introduced to niave first-year Minami Wakamatsu and his goal to be a member of the Information Management club aka computer club. He meets Ryouichi Tsuruga the president the club president. Based on the summary on the back of the book and the first 20 pages you'd think they are the main pairing of the story....wrong! Trust me, by the end, I was like WTF?!Essentially, the book is a mesh of chracter interaction (mostly dealing with the joke of someone being related to someone else), and while Minami and Ryouichi are part of the main focus of events, the manga's strongest paring comes from two other chracters Rin Amanohara (student council president) and Eichi Shidou (vice precident). Minami and Ryouchi get put on the back burner as Rin and Eichi's relationship comes center stage only to get pushed aside and go back into character interaction or randomness. Normally multiple pairings in a yaoi manga isn't uncommon, but for a oneshot volume, it doesn't feel long enough to give satisfactory results...especially for the supposed main pairing. All in all, I was hard pressed to not give this a 2 or 1 star rating, especially when comparing to Koujima's more entertaining titles of "Selfish Love" and "Our Kingdom." However, for just a random read, this can pass, but there are better titles out there. If you are a Koujima fan and can find this on sale - go ahead and buy it - but come in with average expectations.

So cute!
Most of this is just funny cuteness (the strips). There are more normal formatting in this book as well as a couple of color pages inside (so pretty). There is yaoi in this, just not a whole lot (enough to keep me happy, though). Anyway, it's mainly about some guys in this 'information club' and their little mascot (a cute little guy that can be tamed easily by food). There is a very interesting story between a couple characters (the yaoi part) that makes this book really stand out. It's about a rich kid who takes in (and forces his family to adopt) a former rich kid who had become an orphan. The rich kid has the whole 'I own you' thing down, but with a good amount of sweetness not lost on the tough orphan. As they grow, they grow closer (see where this is going). I highly recommend this to those that love the cute stuff.

Comic strip style
I thought I would find annoying the comic strip style format used for this book, but I liked it more than I thought. Was entertained from the first to the last one.

Thumbs up
Not much in the way of sexy scenes, but still a good story with funny characters. Came in within the expected time. Worth the money.
