Not that good

A writer returns home from World War I. He has developed a very bad case of post traumatic stress disorder. His genitalia was also blown away during the war. He contemplates suicide, but becomes interested in the 12 year old daughter of the innkeepers where he is recuperating. They don't seem to mind that he is spending so much time with her. He becomes deeply infatuated with her, but can't physically consumate any kind of relationship with her. She brightens his day, but her sexuality is just beginning to bud. There several full frontal nude scenes. When she begins to prefer a male closer to her age than the writer, the finality of the plot is set.

Real real bad.

This was a very poor quality movie - not just in technical terms, but also in the content itself. Granted, it is very old and predates modern movie production, but the video quality was disappointing, the editing was poorly done and the story content simply was contrived.

It is a movie about a soldier returning from the war and becomes friends with his house keepers 15 years old nice who is living with them ,whose parents died ,beside having flash back's from his battle in combat ,not uncommon back in the early 1900s to marry and family at a young age ,no lewd scenes ,a little bit of nudity in good taste to show attraction more of innocent nature ,nice scenic country side ,back to a simpler time of life set in Europe .

A tease of a young girl makes life awkward for an older man. The story moves slowly and nothing actually happens between the two.

This a classic movie that’s difficult to find specially the original, I saw some other editions but this one has so many cuts... this edition its the worst ... I will return it

The film did not meet my expectations. Very slow and predictable. Pierre is just about the worst actor I have ever seen on film. Truly a terrible and disappointing film in every way. If it was possible for me to return this to Amazon I would do so. Film also had poor video and sound quality. Absolutely nothing interesting or over the top. This film was a comfortable "PG" production. Don't waste your money!!

Like Humbert was poisoned by the tormenting temptation of Lolita, so too Herr Paul is bewitched by this nymphet (Katya Berger) drifting fairy-like through the meadows and bathing naked in the river. Herr Paul is an injured war veteran, contemplating suicide, but his outlook on life is refocused as he befriends the little girl, and as he seeks out her little lips.The film is slow-paced, but that adds to the atmosphere. As other reviewers have mentioned, the dated DVD is grainy. Mine was an edited version. This film was tastefully done. Well acted although the voiceover for me did not match the charactors, especially miss bergers.The usual story of injured man returning home from the horrors of war only to fall in love with a beautifull young girl. You must remember that this was filmed in 1978 as the sound track and dubbing tells throughout the film.

Raccomando l'acquisto solo a quella categoria di appassionati duri e puri che cercano di reperire ad ogni costo piccole chicche del cinema italiano, da anni ormai introvabili; a tutti gli altri consiglio di avere pazienza, augurando loro la fortuna di imbattersi, prima o poi, in una giacenza de “Historia de Eva” (Colmenar Viejo, MAD: Suevia Films, 2008), unica edizione in DVD della pellicola di Cattarinich comprensiva dell'audio originale.

Not bad

Moving story about a returning soldier's obsession with a young girl, BUT the film quality is awful. The sound is patchy and scratchy and the visuals are grainy and poorly focused. I've seen much better quality in 1940's movies that have been transferred to DVD.
