Unusually slim and elegant looking amphora. Hardy. Handmade. Effective outdoors and indoors. Ideal for flanking entrances, gates etc. The term "amphora" comes from ancient Greek and means "two-handed clay pot". The amphora was the ubiquitous, everyday object of transport and storage in the antiquity. As a rule, it was a more and less balanced bulbous, narrow-necked vessel with a more or less pronounced base in different sizes. "Cistus" is the exception from the rule: this was originally a useful work container for dyeing textiles. Its form obeys function. Bulged at the bottom and long at the top, so that the fabric can be drawn through the liquid effectively. Today, the vessel achieves an incomparable effect as an artisanal and unusual decorative object. Please do not hesitate to contact us for the technical changeover or only for the corresponding instructions, but this type of container is not suitable for direct planting (like all containers that have a shape that is somewhere wider than the edge at the top). Any potting or repotting would become a problem. In order to still be able to start “Cistus”, we have developed our metal plant insert, which is made in our workshop for every individual vessel diameter
