I have size one and it is to big. size 2 must be larger?

I found size 2 to be much more comfortable than size 1. I am disappointed that no where on the packaging does it describe the sizing. Hope this helps.

Are these difficult to insert.

They not suppose to be difficult to insert. If they are you may need to size down. I use the Size 3 with just a bit of KY on the tip.

would just a tampon do the same thing?

No. Your urethra where you pee out of is not in your vagina. It is above the vaginal opening. A tampon stops blood but not pee. This is why you don't need to take out your tampon to pee. This product will most likely not stop blood because it is too thin, not thick cotton. This product unfolds and has some sort of stiff plastic or wire of some sort that forms a large box shape. When you choose the right size, the stiff plastic presses against your urethra from the inside of your body. It simulates your pelvic muscles that normally use pressure to close your urethra. So, your urethra is closed with pressure from the inside and you don't leak. It doesn't have enough pressure to stop you from completely emptying your bladder. It only stops leaks.

Why have these been recalled?

The recall was in 2017. Read that the plastic can crack before 31 days is up (maybe they guarantee them for 31 days?) I’ve not used them yet, so not sure how many days they’re supposed to last anyway. don’t you change them daily like a tampon?
